Absolute disaster. Hotels still showing as operating. Hotel was shut and looked untidy when i arrived. Hotels.com and OYO wouldn't refund. i travelled 3hrs there and had to sleep in my car. Still no refund fron hotels.com.

This is a really really run down hotel dirty and not a lot going for it Dirty room carpets and very very noisy guests who sound like they are long term possibly used as a hostel for council

This stay was a good price for a double room and great location for South Pier but the fixtures and fittings we're very dated and in disrepair. The bed was lovely and clean as was the bathroom but the carpet needed vacuuming and the room in general needed a more thorough clean. Our window wouldn't close properly, which I forgot to mention to the owner, but upon speaking to him, he informed me that he was refurbishing the entire hotel over winter anyway. So if you're staying before next season, I would recommend the hotel as a good base but not great to spend a lot of time.

Budget hotel

Guy looking after the place was lovely he accommodated is very well. Room was in a shocking state but a comfy bed shower was clean but just didn’t work well. Over all not bad for the price we paid.

decent, cheap place to base yourself

very cheap, lovely man who manages it. very helpful. room i stayed in needs a good bit of tlc and modernising-but at same time, i was happy with price and i was only getting my head down there. so was fine. very comfy bed.

Good place to stay.

Good hotel. No longer called the Benedict however which caused confusion when trying to find it xx now called the Silver Strand. Friendly staff very accommodating x would definitely stay again.

So awful we slept in our clothes and left by 8am!

Did not get off to the best start, my booking confirmation stated that I had booked the Dayan Hotel, However the photo on my booking confirmation was the front of house of "The Hawkes Hotel" a few doors down, which is where I initially arrived. Upon arrival at The Dayan, the ash trays out side at the front of house were over flowing, I passed this off as it being busy the night prior (being a Friday). A gentleman welcomed me in, knew very little English and said that someone will be with me shortly. Someone else then checked me in and showed me to the car parking area, I was very dubious about parking there as he had pointed to a space that was right underneath a "clamping area" and "do not park here" sign. We stayed in the (after reading other reviews famous) room 9, where, well how do I put it, politely, awful, how it had passed trading standards is beyond me. The shower room: * The grouting had not been finished to even a basic standard and had bits of grout/silicone sticking out * The door did not close properly when in the shower * The wall paper was hanging off the walls which was masking Damp patches * The skirting board was coming away from the walls, leaving cracks between them and the wall * The cleanliness was not even a basic standard, dark dust on top of the splash-back tiles at sink * When the door is closed there is NO room to move around The main room * The bed was extremely lumpy * Lock did not work properly * I do not have enough characters to continue!

The room was so dirty the TV was crap the shower was so dirty that me and my fella couldn't have a shower it was are engagement and it spoilt it for us we never book that hotel again ,(DAYAN )

The managers were excellent the stay was brilliant they cudnt av been more helpful n we even stayed an extra nite lovely people comfortable room tho decor cud do with updating n shower room was tiny u cudnt get dressed in bathroom but would recommend and would book again had a very pleasent couple of nites n npthing was to much trouble for the 2 gentlemen running it 3 of us stayed in one room comfortably myself my gf and my father updating is needed on the decor side of things but apart from that great price n great people enjoyed the stay n will be booking again many thanks gents for ur hospitality was 2nd to none

Will NEVER stay at the Dayan Hotel again

Truly shocking! This was by far the worst hotel my partner and I have ever stayed in. We were allocated a room on the top floor of the hotel which was cold, damp, dirty with wall paper peeling, stained distorted ceiling tiles, a electric mains socket cover hanging off with wires hanging down the back of the cold radiator going to another mains socket. I wouldn't have dared put the old TV on! We soon discovered we had NO hot water and to make matters worse there was a massive spider in the bed. Could wait to check out!

Defiantly would not recommend this hotel to anybod

Don't know where to start really! I think we may have been the only ones at the hotel as it was dead inside and smelt of stale alcohol and fags. Asked for a family room considering there was 6 in one room, however bed linen defiantly hadn't been washed as there were hairs all over including the the towels! Glad we took our own and girls had brought in their own blankets. Had a en-suite but no where to put out toiletries. The toilet seat had seen better days, as it was about to fall off each time one sat on it! And the sink basin was separate located in the room next to the curtains. Could not wash propley as water was too hot! My girls could not wait to get home. We all had enough after the first night. Beds were uncomfortable. It really wasn't for us and we wont be going there again!
