The location was good for us, travelling to Silverstone on the Saturday and only 1 hours drive to Silverstone the following morning.
Upon arrival we had a snack & drinks in the Zest bar, something to keep us going until we ate in the Fairway restaurant.
Our food order seemed to have been forgotten, so needed to remind them. We had cheesy chips which was solid, needing a knife to cut through it
Meanwhile, sadly, a lady also in the Zest bar became ill which was not dealt with very well.
There was no screen put around her to respect her decency and give her privacy. Plus there was loads of people around her drawing attention to this area. Friends/family were running around getting things and at one point there were 7 members of hotel staff gathering around.
The meal at the restaurant was no better. I sent my meal back as it was nothing like described on the menu and completely laced with garlic, it was inedible.
We asked for a continental breakfast to take with us the next morning which was poor. A croissant, a pastry, 2 small muffins, and a banana each.
The breakfast this morning was brilliant, lots of choice and lovely sausages!
This hotel is more like a 3 star. the rooms are old-fashioned, we had no fridge, no water was supplied, no air conditioning, and there was mould in the bathroom.
The advertised "tranquil spa" is open to the public, so not tranquil at all.
