"This was our first visit to see what it was like to give us future options and to compare it with Doxford Hall where we usually stay for short breaks.
We are sorry to give only 4 stars for this particular stay, the property and room quality were both excellent as were the staff we interacted with but the stay was let down by a problem with shortage of kitchen staff due to illness.
This resulted in a reduced dinner menu from which my Wife could not select something she really liked (ending up with Chicken & Chips - my Mussels & Steak were excellent though). The White Wine was not chilled and the Bacon at breakfast tough and almost uncuttable with normal forces.
Despite the above comments we think that the kitchen problem was a one-off and we will try this Hotel again on future visits to beautiful Northumberland."
