"I always enjoy my stays at The Grand, and have visited annually for 16 years. The pool is fantastic and the ambience lovely. Great bar in wonderful setting with views of the bay, and reasonable prices for drinks. Breakfast is good and tasty, but I have never liked the marmalade, far too sweet and sickly, and I wish they could provide sourdough in this day and age. Rooms are clean and comfortable but found hot during my recent stay, and you cannot turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom. The main thing which lets the hotel down is the reception staff. It is the same year after year. You can be overcharged, if not on the ball, and even though I sent an email explaining about my two bookings and who would be in each room (and received an affirmative response), there was utter confusion on arrival and departure, and we witnessed other guests experiering similar issues. They were blaming the new system, but it has been the same story at reception for years. If only they would get an efficient reception manager to sort them out, I could then give five stars."

"I knew I'd made the right choice of hotel from the moment I arrived. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly, the public rooms were gorgeous and tastefully decorated. Everything looked immaculate and gave a great first impression. I dined in the restaurant one evening and the meal was one of the best I've had in a while. The waiting staff are perfect - attentive but not over-bearing. The spa facilities were wonderful. Overall, a fabulous stay and I'd definitely book again."

"Perched above the harbour in Brixham, Sea Tang Guest House delivers warm, personal hospitality that makes even a one-night stay feel memorable. During our Thursday night visit in April 2026, Claire and Chris created an immediate sense of ease, welcoming us with tea and friendly conversation about New Zealand. Practical touches stood out, particularly the convenient free parking at the nearby marina and the ability to unload outside — a real bonus in Brixham’s steep, narrow streets. The room, though compact, was cosy and thoughtfully arranged, with a very comfortable bed and a peaceful atmosphere despite the central location. The shower was excellent — warm and powerful — perfect after time spent by the sea. Breakfast was a highlight, clearly prepared with care and experience. Well-cooked and beautifully presented, it elevated the stay beyond expectations. Just a five-minute walk from the harbour, the guest house strikes a perfect balance between accessibility and tranquillity. Visiting in April meant fewer crowds and sunny spring weather, adding to the relaxed charm. Overall, Sea Tang is a standout choice for a coastal escape, offering comfort, thoughtful details and exceptional value — a place we would happily return to."

"The hotel was dated and looked tired from the outside and inside. The images online were very misleading and didn't look like the room that was promised. The room itself was very small but the bedsheets and towels were clean. The bathroom was in desperate need of being regrouted and cracked tiles needed to the replaced. The net curtains were dirty with cigarette holes in the them and there was a layer of dust on the valance. Even though the 'quite' times were meant to start at 10pm, we could still the music from the bar area long after this and we were on the 3rd floor. I've stayed in cheaper hotels that were a better standard than this...."

"What a lovely hotel! The view from my room was amazing. The room itself was stunning and had all the extra touches that make your stay memorable. If it had been warmer I would have sat on the welcoming balcony, looking out to sea. Lovely location and stunning hotel. "

"The hotel itself was lovely however for someone with chest problems the heating being on constantly didn’t help with the breathing and the beds were really uncomfortable "

"The 2 rooms which we have were absolutely awful….dirty and dusty and old. Walls didn’t see paint for years -some of wallpaper was stick together with tape ! We have mould and damp on the wall . My son vie from the window was bins and cars as his room was on the basement. Food was extremely basic and poor quality. Stuff smoking cigarettes outside and whole halls stink . You can hear drains all evening when people flushed the toilet. Walls are very thick so you can hear every single noise….Awful place."

"Was happy with our stay - the position of the caravan made a big difference as we were staying on the outskirts - quiet spot - could see and hear the sea! Caravan very happy comfortable and clean !! "
