"As the name and geographical location suggest, the Moorland Hotel in Wotter sits high on a beautiful stretch of Dartmoor. The industry rating is 3โญ which is probably fair and accurate. (Go somewhere else if luxuryโ€™s your thing). But whatever it may not have is handsomely offset by the hotelโ€™s affordability; its natural and effortless charm; its truly stunning location; the warm welcome and the top notch cuisine. The Moorland is also host on Sunday nights to the famous Folk on the Moor Folk Club โ€ฆ which is why and where I was there to play. Our room was spacious and spotless affording views out to Plymouth Sound and as far as the Eddystone Lighthouse. Ample parking. And a great base for exploring Dartmoor. We loved the place and give special mention to the cheerful charm, cuisine and helpfulness of its Nepalese owners."
