"Staff and food excellent. Booked a Superior Double room at £172, unfortunately we got a family room with a single bed and what looked like a Queen bed. Black mould on the bathroom ceiling and a light hanging out, bare wires above the bedroom mirror, heating was not on and we came back to a cold room, had to get the staff to sort the heating out, and although there is tea and coffee in the room with a kettle, there was no milk provided and so we could not make a cuppa in the morning."

"A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in one of the accessible rooms, so can’t comment on the other accommodation, but our room was clean, if a little dated. The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap. "The outside and surroundings were outstanding, the look of the castle, views, and scenery beautiful. The room was like a different place. Nothing like a castle room, no detail of history. Bland and deck not what I expected!"

"A first class property. Exactly as described and photographed. Clean, comfortable, extremely spacious for a 2 bed, including the outside space, and very well equipped kitchen. A few miles single lane riving to get there, but sat nav is exact and worth the peace and quiet!!"
