"The room was very dated, especially the bathroom. Not in a charming historic way, it was as if the bathroom was poorly renovated in the 1980s and not touched since. The sink faucet was too short so it was difficult to wash your hands without constantly touching the sink itself (gross), the toilet looked like the type of toilet you'd find in a shopping mall bathroom with an industrial flushing function, and the water pressure in the shower was quite variable and very low at times."

"This is a gem of a hotel, if you’re in Toronto stay here! Why? It’s a historic boutique hotel, and hats off to the new owners for really leaning into the history, they’ve brought it back to its original glory and way beyond, and have put some great old photos and history of it on the walls etc
They also did a great bar and restaurant in the lobby. And note that the breakfast is not just a buffet, it’s a full sit down restaurant with full menu!

"The room was a great size and the king bed very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and professional! We needed a different fridge since it wasnt working snd they sent up the maintenance person with new fridge very quickly! Frenchy's restaurant had a great menu and delicious food. We highly recommend this hotel."

"The property has a lot of old school character and eclectic elegance, we stayed in a lovely suite. The location is great. Afternoon tea is an amazing experience. However we had dinner at the Gatsby restaurant and it was out of character and awful by any measure. Other reviews report the same. Too bad this drags the whole property down."
