Our stay at the Marriott Barrie was lacklustre and poor value. As a step up from three star hotels in the area we were expecting more. We stayed just one night after seeing Jerry Seinfeld at Casino Rama to eliminate a late night drive back to Toronto. The curtains provided were not blackout curtains and so the parking lot lights shone into the room. Further, the TV had a glow to it and we had to cover it with a jacket so that the light coming off the TV did not disturb our sleep. The linen was stiff to the skin. The shower did not work in the morning and we had to get housekeeping to come up and fix it which made us miss our breakfast in the morning. Front staff did kindly grab an yogourt for us. Although it was just the one night, it was definitely not a place that we would go back to.

The obly clean part of this hotel is thr lobby. Went with our kids who were excited to use the pool. It wss disgusting. Not only was it very cloudy, there was years of scum, buildup and dirt in and around this pool. It was hot tub temperature. Alot thd hot tub was broken and drained. Floors have mildew. Hallway leading to room had ripped carpet which was a tripping hazzard. Room was tiny, and smells like bathroom spray. We left after 4 hours The guy at the desk was nice. Find a different hotel.

Thank you so much for making my stay at the Fairfield Barrie so enjoyable. I am an automotive tech and was in town for the week for lab scope and advanced diagnostic training. The housekeeping staff were very friendly and did an amazing job. It was so nice to come back to a clean and refreshed hotel room each evening. The continental breakfast was delicious and had just enough items to choose from to cater to a variety of breakfast tastes, but not so much that it seemed wasteful. I'm a scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bagel, fruit and juice kind of breakfast guy with the occasional waffle or oatmeal day thrown in to mix it up, so your continental breakfast hits the spot every morning before leaving for training. I will be back in the area again for more training in the future and plan to book my hotel here again. Thank you!!!

The pool water did not look safe for swimming. The pool deck and surrounding area very dirty. Room was dirty, hairs all over, food left in the mini fridge, random food bits around the beds. The faucet in the tub was completely broken.

Our room was clean and the bed comfortable Good breakfast and pleasant and efficient lady who set up and cared for the food and the cleanliness of the area. Friendly Staff. Minimum of noise. Clean and plenty of linens. We didn't need elevator but wasn't working until 3rd day there. Back sidewalk only partially cleaned.

Hotel was nice and clean. Unfortunately my husband and I checked in on a Saturday during the wonter which means that there was a hockey tournament taking place that weekend. The parking lot was completely full amd we couldnt find a parning spot. When we spoke to the front desk, they told us to park wherever we could find something (which is what we saw someone else do by parking on the grass near the entrance). We did manage to find a spot somewhere. Check in was easy and we actually got our room upgraded! In the morning we could hear the kids running up and down the hallways which was a bit annoyong when you're trying to sleep at 7am. But overall not a bad hotel

The elevator broke down 4 times while we were there and I got stuck in it. My husband had to go down to get someone as no one answered the panic button.. there was never towels when swimming, the hot tub was broken and breakfast was cold and had to wait for most items. No juice both days. They wanted a 400 deposit on top of the 540 dollars for 2 nights. Would not stay there again.

The property was clean and in good order but there was no hot water for showers in the morning. When I spoke to the desk attendant, he stated that there had been no other complaints and offered no remedies or apologies. Otherwise decent stay
