"The check in process was a bit odd. Was being asked about when I booked and other weird details when I had the booking confirmation in front of me and the booking name etc. The room was absolutely fine, the bed was so comfy, the shower was nice and hot and spacious, there was air con which was an absolute godsend. The music from downstairs wasn’t too loud so didn’t need the ear buds but nice touch! All in all a very good cheap stay! Would be perfect if you didn’t hear people opening and closing...

"I think the important thing to understand is that these lodgings are not a proper hotel but rooms above a pub - nice, spacious, well-appointed rooms. But you do not get the convenciance and comfort of a hotel space and staff. The rooms are up a steep narrow staircase above an occasioanlly noisy pub. These concerns were not an issue for me but I think they would be for some. The area is convenient and near the tube and railways."

"Very well appointed room, nicely decorated, high ceilings, and wonderful air conditioning which was appreciated during a heat wave. Spacious bathroom, blackout window coverings, and even ear plugs if you are sensitive to street noise. Complementary snacks, tea, coffee and water. Special thanks to Tina for making it a great stay. We highly recommend the Clerk and Well."

"Nicely appointed and large room with super comfortable bed. AC worked great. Especially enjoyed the snacks. Since it is a pub, it is a bit noisy until about 11pm but was able to sleep just fine. Staff were super nice."
