We booked our stay as a family of four (two adults, a 10-year-old, and a 14-year-old), accurately entering our children’s ages when making the reservation. On arrival, we were informed that the bunk beds in our room were only suitable for children under 12, and we were advised to place our younger child on the top bunk.
This was not acceptable to us from a safety perspective, as our booking clearly indicated the presence of a 14-year-old who would be unable to use the bunk bed safely. We requested an alternative room but were told the hotel was fully booked. Shortly afterward, another family with two younger children checked in and were provided with a room featuring four single beds, which would have been a safer and more appropriate option for our family.
We believe this reflects a failure in the booking system and the hotel’s duty of care, as our children were placed in an unsafe situation due to inaccurate room allocation.
