Thunder Valley Casino Resort

Thunder Valley Casino Resort

8/10 Good
"The Good:Clean Rooms: The hotel room itself was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The Bad & Things to Know Before You Go:Heavy Smoke Exposure: Thunder Valley is a smoking casino. If you are a non-smoker, be prepared. You will face second-hand smoke immediately when walking through the lobby from the garage parking lot. The smoke smell carries heavily into the dining areas, making it uncomfortable if you want to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner on-site.No Room Microwaves: If you like to bring back leftovers from the restaurants, note that there are no microwaves inside the rooms. Slow Front Desk Service: The staff was only alright. During my visit, the lines backed up significantly because front desk agents spent an extensive amount of time dealing with disgruntled customers instead of calling additional representatives for assistance. This left a lot of guests in line feeling irritated. Tips for Future Guests:If you are sensitive to smoke, hold your breath or wear a mask when walking from the garage through the lobby.Plan to eat your meals off-site or order room service if you want to completely avoid the casino's smoky air."

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Rancho Cordova/Folsom

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Rancho Cordova/Folsom

8/10 Good
"The rooms are clean as well as the common areas. The pool seemed clean but there are many ground squirrels around the pool that are very noisy. You also are around the smoking area and the trash. The bed frames BITE ! The corners are pointed and very sharp... Im still healing from bumping into them. The shower doors open periodically during your shower, easy to put something under to stop. There are no shelves to put anything on in the showers. There is a lot of questionable activities in the McDonalds parking lot next door. The parking lot at night can get sketchy and nobody does anything about it. Breakfast is handed out. The only thing you can access yourself are the muffins and things like that and NOT MANY folks use tongs. The bed is SUPER comfortable and the TV gets lots of channels. Close to Highway 50."
