Pix better than reality, old fashion look and feel. Great outdoor swimming pool but cold water! Nice Jacuzzi (10€/pers extra) but so much chlore than our eyes were crying due to the chemical burning.... when mentioned to staff, no reaction All in all, OK for 1 night stay with modest expectation.

I had read previous reviews about this hotel and the only negative I would agree with is some aspects of our room were "dated". But, with that anticipated, I was overall delighted with our stay. We booked a room with a sea view and there was no question that it had one. Value for money this hotel is right up there. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast was excellent and our room was clean. Okay, so the toilet seat didn't match the toilet and was a bit loose, the mirror fronted cabinet over the basin was too low for me to see me face in when shaving, but they has a side mirror too, so these little points were too insignificant to make this anything other than an enjoyable stay at a very pleasant hotel set in a great position with great views and a 15min stroll into town.

Weather was a bit grim which meant we couldn’t enjoy the pool. Directions to restaurants from the reception was wrong - they marked the hotel in the wrong place on the map!

Fantastic location lovely hotel bu a little tatty
the hotel is in a fantastic location backing onto the beach with half of the rooms having an amazing sea view which is out of this world. You can see the sun set and rise from the rooms in the hotel. Only a short walk from the center of town where all of the bars and restaurants can be found. The hotel staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean in general. The only downside is that the hotel is a little dated and looks untidy from the rear. The hotel is in need of some TLC.

The good and bad
We booked the Arc Hotel as an overnight stop on our way to the South of France. On check-in the receptionist confirmed that our stay was pre-paid. She was very helpful and provided a map of the local area. The hotel is in a great location with direct access to the beach, our room was spacious and overlooked the garden. We spent an enjoyable afternoon in Arcachon and in the evening found a delightful restaurant close to the hotel which served very good food. On our return to the hotel we found that while there was a bar it was not staffed. When asked the receptionist brought drinks to our room. However, in the morning, on check-out, the morning receptionist demanded full payment, not only for local taxes and our drinks, but also for the room charge. Even when we showed her Hotels.com booking confirmation, which clearly confirmed our pre-payment, she was insistent that full payment must be paid. Unhappily we presented our credit card, which for some unknown reason was refused. We therefore paid in cash. We contacted Hotels.com immediately on arrival at our destination. At the time of writing this review our dispute over double payment with the Arc Hotel and Hotels.com has still not been resolved. This has not been a happy experience.

This place has the best location on the beach and close to all restaurants and shopping. You have your own pool outside which is protected by the wind by glass so you can still take in the view. Overall this place is great value!

Unreasonable price, 4 stars hotel price only worth 2 stars hotel standard, all the facilities need charged. We updated for a sea view room charged €40 per day, never go this hotel again

Room with a garden view at the beach
The hotel is on the water close to everything. Our room was at the front ( no view) but it had beautiful trees outside and we felt we were in a garden. Nice balcony. The bathroom was tub only with a hand held shower head. Awkward to work but the hotel price and everything else including wonderful staff made it a great stay!

Great location
The location of the hotel is fabulous, it is right on the beach and a 10 min walk to the centre of town. The staff were friendly and helpful. Limited free on site parking

Bravo!
Lovely hotel with a terrific location. Free parking a plus. Excellent pool and Boardwalk/beach access cannot be topped. Lobby billiard table and a nice breakfast service.

Nice hotel on the beach
My 5th stay here. Always my favorite place to stay in Arcachon. Shops and restaurants nearby, and the main beach restaurants are a short walk on the wooden boardwalk promenade along the beachfront. Parking is tight and the breakfast area a bit small, but overall a pleasant experience.

Just a quick one night stay, but right on the beach. Its kind of shabby chic, but nice roomy bathroom and room itself was good. Worth extra $$ to get a patio on the beach side.

The pictures on the web are a little more luxurious than in actual life. Wifi was very intermittent. Had to keep logging on every little while. Our fellow travelers could not log in from their room. They had to go down to the lobby for their phones to get wifi. No refrigerators in room. Given one bottle of water the first day in our room. None the next two days...said we could buy. Shower situation was very old fashioned. Toilet broke...but they did fix it.

Pleasant stay, on the beach!
We stayed 2 nights. The room was rather dates in style the bathroom toilet and bath were separate, there was no shower attachment which for us was a bit different since we are used to showers not baths. The room was clean though with a working to and air conditioning. The balcony was pleasant with a view of surrounding neighbourhood from our 3rs floor room. The hotel lobby is quite spacious with a fountain and snooker table. The pool is heated and well kept. The leisure fitness facilities were limited there are 4 machines use of the jacuzzi and sauna are at an additional cost which we didn't know people to booking and also need to be booked 24 hrs in advance. Overall we enjoyed our stay though being so close to the beach was nice and the Center of town is only a 10 min walk away. Breakfast was available at our hotel but we didn't take it so can't comment on this the price did seem a little steep in comparison to other places we'd been.

Relaxing seaside break
We had a lovely relaxing break here last week . The room had breathtaking views over the beach and sea and we had a lovely balcony.The staff were very friendly and helpful. We have only two small complaints. I ordered the basic breakfast to be brought to the room on our first morning and the more expensive one came and at €18 each a lot to pay and not good value. We would also have like a proper shower rather than a spray at the end of the bath, without even a hook to make a shower. We would come back as the area is really pretty and beach very clean.

A lovely hotel
A lovely hotel right on the beach. A nicely served breakfast. The shower is a bit awkward, with only the hand-held head and no curtain. Not much English spoken, but enough to get by. Just a short walk to the center and the casino. Parking is a real plus.There is a pool for the warmer weather. I stay here whenever I am in this area.

L’ambiance de l’hotel est très austère. La moquette dans les couloirs tachée, la piscine est sale malgré un robot de nettoyage qui n’est jamais débranché même pendant les horaires d’ouverture. Du coup je ne m’y suis jamais baigné, d’ailleurs je n’ai vu personne le faire. L’hotel est mal entretenu. On voit plein de choses cassés rafistolés avec du scotch. Le personnel n’est pas souriant et dégage un sentiment d’agacement plus que de service. Prendre une chambre à plus de 200€ la nuit et être surveillé lorsqu’on prend le petit déjeuner à 7€ de ne pas prendre ce qui est dans la formule à 13€ est complètement décalé. On a l’impression d’être chez quelqu’un en permanence et non dans un hotel.

Personnel de l'hôtel très accueillant et à l'écoute. Les chambre sont spacieuses et très propres. La piscine qui donne directement sur la plage est un vrai plus (tout comme le parking gratuit)

Tout est parfait !
Hôtel très charmant , avec le personnel adorable et aux petits soins son emplacement est parfait pour être pas loin du front de mer mais au calme, avec vue sur le bassin juste à couper le souffle A conseiller! Petit dej très qualitatif
