Ames has been home to one of our sons since he left for college 10 years ago. Now he has his own family there and we love to visit this friendly town that offers so much to do. Reiman Gardens is beautiful!

Good food at "The Cafe" (2616 Northridge Parkway) the BBQ at Cornbred Barbecue (500 Main St.) was good too. We enjoyed being on campus and poking around downtown too.

Son just moved here for a job and it is a really neat area. Lots to keep you occupied and great food. Very friendly. We are Hawkeyes. But that didn't matter. 😀

"We drive to Minnesota once a year. We won’t stay anywhere else. The staff is friendly and helpful, the location is quiet and within walking distance of restaurants, and it’s an easy drive to get to and from I-35.
Highly recommended!"
"Staff was helpful and friendly. I was staying here for business but was also able to have family come and visit. Walking into the lobby, there is a terrific smell. I spent 4 nights and decided to get a larger room with a sofa and mini kitchen. We stay here usually 2 - 3 times a year. They also accept pets for a charge.
The only place I found to be somewhat dirty was the elevator carpet. Otherwise the hotel was great!"
