"Being an old schoolhouse definitely made it unique. The room was small but didn't feel like it. The view over the courtyard was peaceful and the live music in the evenings was nice way to end the day. If you want quiet before 9 pm then I would look elsewhere but we thought it made for a nice evening. "Property is amazing and home renovation and condition was outstanding, unfortunately we went on a cold weekend and the room was freezing (60°F) with no way to adjust temperature. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. These conditions resulting in almost no sleep."

"Our room was next to the breakfast prep area and every morning there was an inordinate amount of noise from 6am on. Our AC was making a terrible vibrating noise. We informed the staff of both of these concerns and nothing was done to remedy them. We have stayed in this Hampton Inn many times in the past and never had these kinds of problems. Very disappointing."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our king room on the first floor was very comfortable, spotless, had a large bathroom, and even a little back deck. The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. "The location was convenient for most of what I wanted to do. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is right on the beach, but due to that there were often people hanging out in the parking lot smoking near by etc... My room was fine; a bit awkward but fine for one person. The bathroom had many extras and storage which was nice. My windows faced the beach, but one whole side was blurred/smudged out I guess from being old. My room was near the elevator and it was very loud both nights....

"Stayed at Hoyt House in early April. Weather was lousy. Everything else was great. Location is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores of Fernandino Beach. Everything in the Inn was in top shape, and a lot of thought clearly went into making the guests comfortable. Umbrellas when it rained. A glass of wine in the afternoon. Plenty of places to sit witha book or other activity. "

"The breakfast had a lot to be desired. The bacon was really greasy. The flat eggs were cold. The staff were very friendly & polite. The room was clean. But toilet had an issue with flushing. The fan ran all the time whether switch was on or not. And sink’s drain you pull up to let the water drain out was broken. So you had to manually pull up the plug to let the water out!"

"The beach view was is the distance with several buildings partially obstructing the view. Fresh towels, paper cups and waste baskets emptied each day- bed linens every 3rd day. Breakfast was limited buffet, repetitive hot choices, pancake machine difficult to operate. The breakfast room itself was very nice and comfortable with different seating choices. "

"There are two primary reasons I rated this property 3 out of 5 stars. The room and facilities were very nice. However, this is a Springhill Suites, not a Motel 6. I did not expect to hear my neighbors walking on the floor above me, nor did I expect to hear them using the bathroom. This is not what I expect from a well-respected, higher-end chain like Springhill Suites. The other reason I am not completely happy is the parking fees.
