"This house was so adorable! We were running extremely late do to a change in our flight but the owner stayed up to greet us. She showed us around the village and where the stores were. "We arrived after a late flight into Heraklion, the welcome was warm with the offer of a cold welcome beer. The room was more than we expected woth plenty of space and good amenities. Morning arrived and we had a fabulous breakfast out on the deck admiring the view over the valley. We only spent a night here bit wish we could have had 1 more. Highly reccomended"

"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"Great location as pretty much right in the middle of the island on the north side. The breakfast was really plentiful and Greek! It was run by a family and it felt really warm. Also it was close to beaches and shops so it’s not so remote that there’s nothing to do. Our room had sea view from the L shaped balcony."

"My family and I had an incredible short stay (1 night) at this hotel. The after hours check in was super easy with the door pass codes. The staff were super friendly and helpful the following day. Rooms were very clean, comfortable, and we loved the shower except for the privacy. My daughters had their own room and was a good thing because the showers offered no privacy in the room.
