Top Silloth Hotel Reviews
Carlisle Station Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW
"The room was very clean, and the lighting was fantastic, with a decent centre light that could be turned on and off from the bed. Decent bedside lamps, which worked well; none of the single candle power when the hotel was run by Hallmark. Having had nightmares with those stupid plastic key cards in the past, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the wooden version worked to perfection every time we used it. Would other hotels please take note! One thing I would comment on is that one has to ask for our room to be cleaned. I don't have a problem with that. But it would be useful if there was somewhere where we could put our plastic bags of rubbish each morning. I particularly liked the idea of being given tickets to show we had paid for our breakfast. At £10 each were excellent value for money. The yoghurt is to die for, as are the croissants. I have eaten many croissants over the years, and believe me, these are the best. It was also good to see a nice selection of fruit already prepared. We didn't try the tea, coffee, or hot chocolate; we prefer fruit juice, which is excellent, with just the correct amount of sweetness. I did have a bit of an argument with the orange dispenser; we obviously did not speak the same language! It was great that there was a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. Hubby did enjoy the sausage and bacon, but he was a bit put out that there were no mushrooms! There were also tomatoes, hash browns and baked beans on the menu."

Crown and Mitre Hotel
"It's an old hotel, but its clean, tidy and the staff are great. Rooms vary, some are bigger than others. Location couldn't be any better for the centre of Carlisle. On this occasion we were on the fourth floor which does require some stair climbing (there is one lift, it holds four people and is usually occupied by confused old people), rooms are a little smaller on that floor, although the bathroom was huge. Water pressure wasn't fantastic but was okay for a couple of night stay. Last time I stayed on the third floor and the room was a little bigger and althought the bathroom was smaller, no issues with water pressure. Bar is great, not expensive and the bar food is good quality fresh food (didn't try the restaurant). Parking is free, but is limited - you're probably okay arriving before 5PM weekdays, but weekends is busier - there is an underground pay car park literally 300 yards away, so no big deal if you can't get in."
Cumbria Park Hotel
"I stayed for a long weekend and the cleanliness and staff were exceptional. However, the Wi-Fi didn’t reach my room, which was 130, a single room as I was travelling alone. The other somewhat disappointing aspect was the lack of water pressure in the shower."
Ox Hotel Carlisle
"The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The beds were really comfortable, breakfast was very comprehensive and nice. The place is a little run down, but looks as though it’s being improved. Great value for the price, would definitely stay there again. They do do evening meals in the bar although their website doesn’t say so."
The Golf Hotel
"Breakfast was lush, a few bits had went unnoticed in the cleaning, Also I'm not happy I booked a double room and it was two single beds pushed together, As we were getting jiggy they came apart, not the worst place ever but not the best x"
