"Overall good experience at the Banff Park Lodge! The downside of pre-registration for the check in was that we arrived early and even when the room was available we were waiting for the text, wish we received a text to say the room is ready, you can check in now. Had to sit at Tim Hortons for at least an hour and half. Overall staff was nice, renovation happening at the hotel so can’t so much! The room was nice, best part the steam room and pools!"

"I requested an upgraded balcony room, which was far from an upgrade (paid extra for as well), paid for guaranteed parking (spaces so small and very limited parking barely able to utilize). There was construction all down the street so the main entry to the hotel was not accessible by vehicle, which made figuring out how to check in at night and how to get to the parking garage a significant challenge (this construction was not posted on Expedia or the hotel website). During my 4 night stay, no sleep was to be had between extremely thin walls, being “upgraded” directly across from the only ice machine and vending machine on the floor, 2 doors down from the elevator, and directly down the hall from the games room, which was supposed to be shut down by 9pm (was not had to call hotel staff close to 10pm so I could try and sleep). Kids were running up and down the hall all day (I know the hotel cannot manage others children). While in the sauna, children were running around the fitness room and peering into the sauna making comments, this made for an extremely uncomfortable experience. Mind you there were cameras in the fitness facility so staff should have managed this better. As well as shutting down the games room at 9pm as advertised. While housekeeping staff kept my room immaculate and the hotel is in a desirable location, I will never return. "

"Wonderful family stay. It's an older resort with the related issues (water leaks, older building odours in hallways) but it was affordable and comfortable and assigned parking was great to guarantee a spot as it was busy. The rooms were very clean, kitchen area was handy with all needed basics for simple meal prep, and the wood burning fireplace and balcony were wonderful. The waterslides were awesome, but also absolute chaos (only 1 attendant who was not even in the pool area), so I'd keep a close eye on your kids to prevent injuries. The splashdown pool is not big enough for people to hang out in, and signs indicate all are supposed exit right away, but large crowds of kids and parents were parked in the pool anyway. Our son had so much fun while we relaxed in the hot tubs, but several kids, including mine, had to be constantly reminded to move away from the bottom of the slides."
