After experiencing the utter chaos in the foyer of the Premier inn opposite we escaped and found an oasis of calm in the Indigo hotel and found the cost was much cheaper here as a last minute booking. It is ideal for a visit to the Playhouse theatre just round the corner and plenty of restaurants and bars in easy reach.

Initial look of the hotel on photos looked great, until we arrived and it was full of construction blocking the windows, not many facilities either. Staff were lovely and gave us 2 complimentary drinks as the fridge didn’t even work in the room. Quiet , but you’d be better off with the premier inn across the road and a fraction of the price.

Disappointing stay
Good location for central Edinburgh with a great car park 2 mins walk discounted from hotel £15 for 24 hours. However very scruffy hotel with no character like other indigo hotels we have stayed in. Had to change rooms as the smell of rotten drains when we opened our room door was horrible. The staff delt with it well and changed our room but this room was ridiculously small with a massive telly at the foot of a very very small bed.. didn’t get much sleep for fear I would kick the telly over :( For a IHG hotel it does not tick any of the boxes. The only good thing was the staff. Felt a bit ripped off for the price. Would not recommend or go back sadly

Very much enjoyed our Edinburgh experience.
Hotel is ideally situated and we enjoyed our stay. Room was well appointed with all you would expect and very clean and comfortable. We did not enjoy our breakfast although there were plenty of choices. We were in room 111 which was a big problem to find and then to find our way back to reception. No lift to 1st floor which added to our getting lost several times. Signage could have been a lot better.

Hotel was good apart from the fact that our TV did not work. We reported the fact but it didn’t get fixed. On checking out we were advised to let you know about it as there may be some compensation due. Would you please look into this for me.

Booked this hotel as a surprise for my parents 40th anniversary and can’t tell you enough how happy they were with the hotel firstly being so central. They said the breakfast was so vast and very tasty. The staff were very helpful. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay 😊

Wonderful stay..far exceeded our expectations.
We absolutely loved your hotel. Next time we will deginitely stay longer. From the girls at the front desk in the afternoon to the guys in the morning, everyone was so welcoming. We loved the superb breakfast!. Room was gorgeous with very comfortable bed. The free mini bar and coffee were an extra surprise!. Very convenient location. Near Waverly station and the bus station right around the corner where we met our day tour. We have been telling everyone we meet how much we enjoyed our stay.
