"Good place to stay. Not fancy but has many conveniences like very small 24 hour market for essentials and snacks including microwave and disposable utensils etc, seating areas, vending machines with drinks. There was much more but didn’t use them like laundry, fire pits, pool etc. would stay again."

"The hotel and our rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Pools were nice and heated. We loved the marina and had a great time kayaking. This was an additional cost but well worth it. The onsite dinning/food options are very limited and nothing was available for late hours, after dinner. The Market store closed at 10:00AM so the quick food and coffee wasn’t available after that. This got challenging as we got up early for marina activities then had to leave to go find simple breakfast...

"Our room was in need of an update- peeling wallpaper, hole in ceiling, moldy smell. No one at the front desk let us know that the room they assigned us was extremely close to their concert area, and as there was a wedding there at the time we stayed, there was booming music until very late (we had kids with us). Extra amenity fee seemed silly- WiFi never worked for us, we couldn’t have enjoyed music on the property (again, wedding- no way to attend an event because that was in use), etc. Pool...

"I think the hotel has a great view and a lot of access to the whole ocean beach area. Everything is very commutable by foot and there’s a lot of good bars and food options just around the hotel. Truthfully it’s not that far from downtown maybe a 20 minute drive depending on traffic. And the staff was very helpful in finding food options and things to do."

"This property is in a beautiful place. The restaurant the staff was quite friendly I believe the pool area tile and grouting needs to be updated. It’s looking a little worn."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Sands of La Jolla! We stayed on the second floor with a king-sized bed, and the room was clean, with a balcony to lay out towels and swim suits."

"The construction, rooms that are not ready for guests being filled and poor customer service training for the staff are obvious flaws. We were embarrassed to have family members stay here as well to attend a wedding."

"Nothing about the property interior or staff failed to meet expectations. It was clean and they were friendly. The doors have a heavy shut which is comforting for my own room but not as enjoyable when others come and go. The entirety of my reasoning behind the low rating has to do with the surrounding area. Upon arrival we immediately noticed facilities for scantily clad dancers and our morning exit included traversing the one way road blocked by four cop cars."

"Our flight was delayed over 24 hours. We were not able to actually go to this hotel. The staff was fantastic as we were trying to get into San Diego, helping us to ensure that our booking would stay. I would not hesitate to book this hotel in the future."
