We stayed at Hotel Basel over night to board our river cruise trip. The front desk staff are very friendly and efficient. The man checking us in made a great suggestion for a walk. If we would have gone the way I thought, we would have ended up in an industrial end of town.
Beautiful city and the hotel's location is perfect!! Right in the middle of city centre and close to market square.
Would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Passage on our first trip to Basel. It is easily reachable on foot from the SBB station and has a very clean and welcoming atmosphere. The décor is very modern but neutral. The triple glazing blocks out the sound from the outside (although we were overlooking the garden). The rooms are well lit and the bathrooms are very clean and well appointed. The gym, for a hotel gym, is excellent.
There are a few things we noticed for improvement. I have listed them in order of priority:
--There was no mattress protector on the bed.
--The pillows were dreadfully uncomfortable and had no protectors.
--The bathroom is lovely but the towel rails haven't been well managed. There is no way to hang two bath towels to air or get to from the shower.
--There was only one armchair in the executive room.
Other than those four items, there is no fault to be picked. The staff, both at the front desk and the cleaning staff, were friendly and attentive. The hotel is very new and it is obvious that there is still a refining of operations in progress but it was certainly better than other established brands that I have stayed in.
Staff were extremely helpful from start to finish, hotel is very central to all that Basel has to offer.they also supply you with a transport card for the length of your stay to use on all public transport which became very useful.
Excellent checkin and out. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who were extremely helpful. Very nice, spacious room that was perfect for us (mature couple with 5 year old granddaughter). Had all the amenities you could ask for including built in adapter and an umbrella in case it rains. We loved the complimentary beverage station in the lobby. Location next to a large mall was very convenient as well as being only a short walk to the tram to go directly downtown in 10 minutes or so. The complimentary bus passes were much appreciated, and we were able to buy discounted tickets for the zoo directly from the Reception, which saved us lining up. This hotel is conveniently located, close to downtown as well as being close to the airport and nearby restaurants. Highly recommend it if you are visiting Basel and would chose it again for ourselves.

Great place for one day in Basel. Easily accessed from bus route 50 between airport and train station. It's the big gold building next to the the tall red one (the casino!) right there at the bus stop. The bus runs every 10 minutes if not sooner. Comfortable room. Clean and modern. I was there just to sleep before catching a flight the next morning, so I did not try any of the amenities offered.
Quiet, friendly, clean, a nice lounge with complimentary glass of wine, short walk to attractions, easy to get to (one stop on #30 bus from bannhof sbb), a printed copy of the booking lets you ride in from airport on the bus and the complimentary mobility pass gives free public transit. Exceeded expectations for a reasonably priced hotel and better than a lot of expensive ones.

This was in a good location and everything was accessible by tram. The hotel staff was very helpful in getting information for us, getting us a taxi when we needed one and we were able to store our bags there while we did some sightseeing on our last day. Good restaurants nearby.
My friend and I stayed here one night as a stopover between Zermatt and Luxembourg and it was great. The staff was extremely friendly and answered all questions that we had. We were only in the town for a few hours and the woman at the desk was able to give us a run down of exactly what we should see. Since we were leaving the hotel the following morning at 5:45, we were going to miss the complimentary breakfast. In order to make up for this, the hotel packed was large lunches free of charge! The room was super clean and very spacious. I would definitely stay here again!
