"We thought this hotel was a great place to stay. The location was good for us as it is very close to the ruins and the plaza de Armes (with many restaurants and shops). There are a couple of cute sitting areas which was nice for meeting up with other family members. Our rooms were next to the river with beautiful views. "Stayed at Hotel Retama Machupicchu during my visit to Machu Picchu. The staff was friendly and super helpful, and the location made it convenient for getting around Aguas Calientes and heading to Machu Picchu early in the morning. The room was clean overall, and I appreciated having a quiet place to rest after a long travel day. There were a few downsides. The hotel is also up a hill and does not have an elevator, which could be difficult with luggage. Breakfast was simple but enough to get started for the day. They made me an omelet to order that was delicious. Overall, it’s a decent option if you want an affordable stay close to Machu Picchu and are mainly looking for a place to sleep and recharge before the trip."

Early breakfast helped with line up and machu pichu logistics. Location is close to line up. Very easy. A little noisy at night because of sport events. I slept with AirPods Pro, no issue. Nice hot shower after long days. Recommend ! "
