This place was great! The staff bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable.
Staff very friendly, rooms were clean, spacious, hot water for showering, first morning they made us a box lunch for our train ride to Machu Picchu which was perfect.. our last morning they served a delicious breakfast in main foyer .. very close to everything..would highly recommend and definitely stay again.
The room is very clean and spacious, the service is very warm and thoughtful, the breakfast is rich and delicious, the coffee and anti-high anti-tea tea are delicious, I will come back
again.
The room was small, however very clean. The breakfast options were limited. Nevertheless, the worm approach to the clients from the owner, her help with any additional service covers all small issues. We still give the Kentu Inn FIVE STARS !
The hotel is very clean and very heart feeling when we leave the hotel in 5:30 am headed to Machu Picchu and they already prepared our lunch pack for us to go which was very touched our heart.
Also, the hotel has a rooftop where we can seat in and watched the stars and moon . 👍👍👍
Thank you to the whole team at Kantu Inn. They went out of their way to accommodate my gluten free breakfast requests. They even packed me a breakfast to go for my early morning trip to Machu Picchu. They are so friendly and accommodating.
Especially Lorainna and Marcello. Always smiling and asking if there is anything I needed. They have a lovely terrace. Rooms are really nice and the bed was very comfortable. Food was delicious! Great location just around the corner from the Plaza Des Armas. Nice it was a quieter area.
Marcelo and his family were absolutely fantastic. Helped our family of 4 get a few days of laundry cleaned for an amazing price. Coordinated a taxi for us on the morning we left to get to the train station on time. Breakfast was amazing and they took great care in everything regarding the hotel.
Everything about this hotel was great. The location is perfect , a nice breakfast plus the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The entire staff are extremely friendly and efficient. We highly recommend the Kantu Inn .
The most useful and friendly staff I have encountered in years of travel. Willing to go above and beyond for the comfort of their guests.

Sharing experiences based on awareness that it is a more no frills / budge stay
Pros
- welcoming and lovely staff
- hearty breakfast that's included
- close to the main plaza but on a quieter street
- nice terrace hangout area with lookout
- fairly clean rooms
Cons
- noise transfer from hallway to room is audible. Can hear others rooms water pipes and hair dryers - would not recommend for light sleepers or someone who can't sleep with earplugs
Family owned and operated. Very friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast served. Withing walking distance to the main square with lots of restaurants to choose from
Room is clean, bed is comfortable, had a very good sleep. Staff are helpful and friendly. Staff will give you a heater if you feel cold and go ask for. No problem at all. Breakfast is delicious and you meet people in dining room, exchange information. It’s a family-run business, the couple try to make you feel at home even just a short stay. Their little girl is lovely too. 3 minutes walk to the main square. Always have hot water with tea bags and instant coffee in the dining room on the first floor.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kantu Inn. It's a quaint hotel with lots of personal service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Marcelo. We loved his big smile and hospitality. He remembered our names and made sure we were well taken care of during our stay. He's also a wonderful cook--he prepared delicious and healthy meals.
Although the room was small, it was just what we needed, especially given all of our activities in and around the town. And the location was PERFECT, just a very, very short walk into the center of Ollantaytambo for food, shopping, and beautiful views. It was also a great landing spot to head to the train station for our visit to Machu Picchu. Many, many thanks to the Kantu Inn team and continued blessings!
Very agreeable staff. Clean room. Tucked away in residential area on side street. Close proximity to square, Hot water for shower was nearly non-existent and Resort view is definitely not worth the additional expense. Tiny rooftop deck that accommodates 2 guests max. Leaving the door open brought street noise and smell of smoke from local neighboring street market. Overall sweet but only at a reduced price.
Kantu Inn was a great stay. It’s in the sacred valley, a short and safe 15-20 minute walk to the PeruRail/IncaRail station. It’s also about a 3 min walk to the main OLlantantaymbo square there are restaurants, bars, and markets. The team is so nice! They greet you with smiles then ask you to confirm your booking. They’ll give you information about tours and taxis if you need it too. The rooms are clean! As a note, this is the sacred valley of Peru, be mindful of that. The hotel is surrounded by mountains and Ruins and the inside is characteristic of Peruvian charm. The breakfast was delicious!!! They also served Coca and Muna tea, along with a traditional Peruvian drink.
The only thing I would worry about is the bathroom. It’s very nice but if you keep the shower on too long or leave the shower running, the bathroom will have slight condensation on the floors and walls. Once we discovered this, we took shorter showers and it solved most of the problem. So just be mindful. This didn’t take away from the experience at all, though. I’d definitely stay in the hotel again.
The staff was very kind and helpful and the location was great. Breakfast was healthy and tasty, although we missed having fresh fruit. The room was clean and comfortable, but we were disappointed that there was no window to get fresh air.
We would stay again, if we return to Ollantaytambo.
