Retail Therapy, Rollercoasters & Relaxation in Kaohsiung With Bobo

After spending two days in Tainan, I was off to Kaohsiung, Taiwan for more delicious food. I travelled to Kaohsiung on H.S.R Taiwan and it took around 20 mins to travel from Tainan to ZouYing Station ($150TWD).

Arriving in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

I’m in love with THSR (Taiwan High Speed Rail) because it’s really convenient and helps travelers like me, save a lot of time travelling. My plan in Kaohsiung was to visit E-Da Theme Park and since I only have 1 full day in Kaohsiung, I stayed in E-Da Royal Hotel which is just right next to E-Da Theme Park and E-Da Shopping Outlet Mall!

Getting from ZouYing H.S.R station to E-Da is pretty easy because they provide shuttle bus back and forth from E-Da hotels or Theme Park. It was about 15.5 miles one-way, during rush hour traffic it takes about 35 minutes and during off-peak hours, about 25 minutes. You just need to take EXIT 2 at Taiwan High Speed then go to the 5th bus stop sign! The shuttle bus comes every 20 min or so!

Finally reached E-Da Royal Hotel in the evening, just in time to catch some nice lights to take a nice picture of the hotel!

I stayed in their Deluxe room which interior was more towards the classic and luxury type, and it’s really different from the other hotels I stayed in Taiwan.

I love the idea of separating the toilet and shower area!

Dinner in Kaohsiung Town

Dinner in Kaohsiung Town

After checking-in, my relatives brought me to Kaohsiung town for dinner. We went to this restaurant that specializes in crabs, it’s called Crab’s House蟳之屋located at No. 93, Minsheng 1st Rd, Xinxing District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan 800. They serve very yummy seafood at a reasonable price!

After dinner they dropped me back to my hotel and it was pretty early so I decided to take a walk around the hotel and the shopping outlet mall which is only a few mins walk from the hotel. The night view at E-Da is beautiful!

This shot was taken while I was crossing the connecting bridge from E-Da Royal hotel to E-Da Shopping outlet.

I also went to check out their swimming pool! Super regret that I didn’t bring my swimwear along because they have a huge slide at the pool!

The next morning I woke up earlier than usual to get ready and have breakfast before heading to the Theme Park! The weather was burning hot that day, I was sweating like mad, hahaha. Thank god my makeup is waterproof.

I was also quite lucky cause I got to check out some other rooms that E-Da Royal had to offer. My super favorite room is the Studio Suite! It comes with Japanese TATAMI flooring for you to relax and it’s perfect for families!

E-Da Shopping outlet mall is HUGE, and it has all the brands that you can think of like Gucci, Coach, Kenzo, etc. It’s divided into 3 zones, Zones A, B and C! Zone A is more to high-end products and the usual branded items can be found here. Zone B is more towards fashion and accessories, and it also has an outdoor flea market on the 1st floor. Zone C, is where the Theme Park entrance and exit is located and it’s targeted more towards the younger ones such as toys, sportswear, and etc.

Since it was still early I checked out the ferris wheel first! I wanted to see E-Da World from above! You get to ride it for free if you purchase E-Da Theme Park tickets! It starts operation at 12noon! Do you know E-Da has its own university, international school and also baseball team?

Then I went to explore the Theme Park, the highlight of my Kaohsiung trip! The entrance of the theme park is right inside the mall. The entrance fee for theme park is $899 for adults above 18years old, $799 for kids 13 and above then $580 for kids below 12 years old and seniors.

Theme Park Zones

Just like the shopping mall, the theme park has 3 different zones. First zone is the E-DA Royal Theater which is inspired by Greek architecture. This is also where all the performance and shows will be played. Please click here for more info of the performance show times!

Then the next building is the second zone which is obviously inspired by Santorini. Here they have the horror room and also 3D museum! If you’re not into those then this zone is perfect for photoshoots!

The final zone was like heaven to me because it’s an indoor air-conditioned theme park! It’s perfect for kids or families because the interior of the theme park is filled with colors and candies!

Some interesting rides that I saw along the way!

Outdoor Parade

Something that you shouldn’t miss is the outdoor parade! Every year they change to a different theme, this year’s theme is futuristic/ robot so E-Da mascots were dressed in these robot suits! Lucky for me, I went just in time for the parade because it’s pretty interesting. It doesn’t parade around but they are acting out a scene like in a play.

After the parade, I went to check out this indoor ride called Flying Across Taiwan! It’s basically a ride that allows you to see all of Taiwan in less than 20 min!

It was time to head back to the hotel so I took the Monorail from Zone 3 to the exit without having to walk under the hot sun!

Bumped into E-Da mascot in the hotel lobby before I left for Taichung! Besides the sizzling weather I personally think E-Da is a perfect place for a family vacation! It’s fun to come in groups because you get to enjoy everything without the hassle of travelling around. They have all the things you can ask for, from restaurants to cinemas, to a theme park and even spas!
