  • It takes 1,000 butterflies to weigh one pound (.45kg), and the branches on this tree were sagging under the weight. The monarch colony here was quite different than at the more popular El Rosario sanctuary. 40 minutes outside Zitacuaro, near El Capulin, we chartered a couple of tiny mountain horses to take us up the rugged path to view the colony. The monarchs were clustered within a ravine, swirling around a few choice pine trees in search of sunny roosts. Whenever the sun went behind a cloud the butterflies scrambled into the air and back to the safety of the nucleus, knowing that settling down for the night outside the warmth of the colony would mean certain death.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Easy and secure parking lot. Rooms were nice and clean. Nice hot showers with decent water pressure. We even had coffee delivered to the room at 6:30 am. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Modern,fairly straightforward hotel with no frills but still very comfortable and probably the best in this city (not much choice). Rooms plain but adequate. Good breakfast but restaurant otherwise closed. Quiet,clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

Excelente el hotel

La atención es muy personalizada. Las habitaciones amplias y muy limpias. El restaurante muy bonito y rico. La piscina muy grande no la utilizamos por que hacia mucho frio. Tiene servicio de spa muy recomendable.

Las habitaciones no tienen aire acondicionado, la televisión no cuenta con sistema de cable, solo you tube y netflix, con pésima conexión a internet, mal estado de los muebles de alberca, la cual no tiene sistema de calefacción por lo tanto el agua totalmente helada, camastros solo 2 para todo el hotel, no tienen lavandería y tienden la ropa de camas literal en tendederos junto a la alberca, mala imagen y nada cómoda la estadía.

Estancia bastante agradable, habitaciones cómodas con todo lo necesario para descansar. Las toallas estuvieron un poco rasposas, pero en general todo lo demás fue muy bueno. Las habitaciones estuvieron limpias, las televisiones tuvieron cuentas de Netflix.
