The University Inn Ann Arbor
5/5 Excellent
Perfect Location and Cheerful "Vibe"
"This hotel is perfect for most Ann Arbor stays: location, convenience to eateries and shops, ease of access to local freeways, friendly staff, free (but limited) breakfast, cleanliness, and charm. I took off a point on some aspects for some minor things, such as a lamp with a broken switch, a window covering that doesn't block out all light, and a somewhat stained carpet. The carpet is really not an issue, it looks ok and is basically clean. I may have read here that the rooms are "dated," but there's nothing wrong with 1950s tile and some furniture from the 1980s. The photos are accurate, for my room anyway. The splash of color in U of M colors is welcoming and not cheesy at all. The feel of the whole place is sweet. There's no hairdryer in the room; pack one or perhaps it can be requested from the front desk. Also no iron, which is "ironic" because it's the first time I actually wanted to use one. That, too, might be available by request; I didn't check. Overall, I would definitely stay here again."
