"Unfortunately, the room temperature was hot beyond any reasonable level. Being British and living in an old home here in the UK I understand how hot upper level rooms can get in the extreme heat and was expecting the temperature to be excessive. The actual temperature was beyond extreme and the fan provided did not oscillate and was extremely noisy. "I absolutely detested the evening meal service available because it was premised on a "minimal waiter/waitress service model. The idea was that you order and pay for your meal at the bar and it is brought to your numbered table when ready by the same staff member. The problem comes when you order something else, an extra glass of wine in my case.Waitress said I either had to interrupt my meal and walk to the bar and order and pay for the extra glass of wine ( which is what she really wanted me...

"Perfect place to stay overnight before a flight from Stansted. Lots of choice for your help yourself breakfast. Wasn’t made aware that you could leave your car there and take a taxi to the airport. Would have definitely saved some money. Maybe this could be highlighted more."

"Room was not cleaned for the 2 nights we were there even after requesting. The walls were dirty as well. I was told by staff she would try and clean the room. Needless to say. We had 2 rooms booked neither was cleaned. Cleaning your surrounding property would also help with the perception of your Days Inn. I have never seen one so run down."

"I was able to check in online before I arrived at The Kicking Dickey. The staff were very helpful and friendly along with the pub which I thought was very welcoming. My room was at the rear of the property so away from any noise. The room itself was comfortable and well maintained, I think it might of been a converted stable. Nice functional bathroom with a shower and a very comfortable single bed. Lots of free parking outside the property. All in all well worth a stay."

"We chose an inside room, hoping for a dark night, but found out later there was a skylight in the ceiling, which was bright all night long, eye masks were provided. Because the room was windowless there was no airflow, there was a fan on the bedside table, but room was rather hot and stuffy. The beds were just OK. The food at the restaurant was mediocre. Service was great! The grounds were beautiful. Would stay again in a different room."
