Just a clean and well cared for hotel with tasteful decorum. Room was neat and bed was comfortable. Staff spoke English well and were very courteous. Location was perfect. Near to Praca de Republica (puble square) and city park.

A run down version of its grander former self, with indifferent staff. The front desk is the opposite of welcoming. Our compact room was okay, but the bathtub shower curtain was a mildew haven -- needs the bleach treatment. Lot's of available easy on-site parking, if one can figure out how to get through the up/down gates on entry and exit. Breakfasts were amazingly great, but no dinner menus were available so we found our evening meals elsewhere. The room service offerings were poor. Be careful not to trip on the tired/wrinkled carpets in the hallways. Great central location -- as good as it could possibly be. Might stay again despite the defects purely because of the location at the city centre.

The hotel was very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and lots of storage space, as well as a private patio with a small table and 2 chairs. The only issue we had with the room is that it was pretty dark, even with the curtains open, and somewhat dated. The bathtub drain was a little slow and the shower head wouldn't stay in position. Otherwise a very nice, clean and spacious bathroom with nice towels. The breakfast buffet was terrific, fresh and delicious with lots of items to choose from. It was close walking distance to see many of the historic sites in Viseu. Parking in front of the hotel is awkward, as the lower gate is an emergency exit, so one has to reverse uphill and turn around in a narrow driveway to exit. Otherwise we did appreciate the onsite parking. We appreciate the dog-friendliness of this lovely hotel.

The hotel is clean. The have a few rooms but very clean and comfortable. The staff is fabulous. It is a boutique hotel in a wonderful area of Guimarese walking distance to everything.

Well Maintained Hotel Near City Center

Hotel Grao Vasco is truly a historic hotel. Pedro from sales gave a very friendly guided tour of the property and spoke with us about the wonderful past that Hotel Grao Vasco has. This is stylish sixties but maintained beautifully and still run by the family that built the hotel. Go to Viseu and enjoy! The hotel had comfortable beds, it is centrally located near the old city center and the staff was very welcoming. Pedro in particular was kind, helpful and proud of the hotel. It was refreshing to see a person who has the kind of hospitality everyone expects but rarely sees. Obrigado!

Quarto confortável, temperatura interna bem aconchegante, principalmente nos dias mais frios do ano. A equipe foi cordial, os garçons, principalmente do jantar, sempre muito atenciosos e prestativos. Achei que faltou uma qualidade melhor em produtos para banho e o café da manhã poderia ter mais variedade, bem como o jantar/almoço, pois era sempre a mesma coisa. De resto tudo muito bom.
