I recently had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience at Quinta do Pedregal Hotel & Spa when I encountered a bedbug infestation in the hotel room. Despite reaching out to both the hotel and their customer service, I received no assistance or reimbursement for the night. This ordeal has left me deeply dissatisfied with Quinta do Pedregal Hotel & Spa's handling of the situation and their lack of responsibility, especially given the current bedbug concerns in Europe.
Upon arriving at Quinta do Pedregal Hotel & Spa, I got into the hot tub in the room, but it was cold. So then I changed into the robe and got on the bed to wait for the hot tub to warm up. I immediately noticed signs of a bedbug infestation in the room. I noticed small, reddish spots on the bed sheets, and upon lifting the mattress cover I noticed bugs and eggs further confirming my suspicions. I promptly photographed the evidence as a record of the issue, given the gravity of the situation.
I then contacted the hotel's front desk, but their response was nothing short of apathetic. I was offered another room, but I did not want to stay in a facility with bedbugs. Despite my concerns and the pictures I provided, they showed no urgency in addressing the problem in issuing a refund for the evening. In the end, I had no choice but to leave the hotel and find alternative accommodation at my own expense. This experience not only disrupted my travel plans but also caused financial strain.
