Check in was a breeze and the stay was quiet and comfortable. My kids wanted to try out the pool but we didn’t see anyone else using it so we just enjoyed our stay and our beach time

Nice motel in Port Lavaca
My favorite place to stay in Port Lavaca. Its a simple business without a lot of amenities, but it costs less per night and they have rooms for pets and smokers if desired.

Good enough
Furniture was torn and stained. Walls were dirty. But a/c and TV worked. Bed was decent.
Our room had mold in it you could see it and you could also see where they painted over it

Had to clean off multiple counters as they had multiple liquids on them or a lot of dust. Top comforter had a good amount of stains on them and the bathroom didn’t have a lot to ventilation. Comp breakfast was decent even though cereal was stale

No remote etc
The TV was not hooked up and could not find the remote. There were gym shorts, underware and a hotel towel in one of the dresser drawers which i found looking for the remote. The price was right as i only spend sleeping hours in the room.

Hidden fees for what they called pet friendly, turned out when we got there they forced us to pay $10/day stay for.my.dog who stayed in a kennel.
At 11am on the departure day management had the cleaning lady come an tell me it was time to go.
Needless to say, I will never stay here again.

It was a NO for me
Seldom have I ever left a hotel after paying and I've stayed in some questionable hotels, but I actually had to leave this one. I couldn't stay. The first room had mold all over the comforter and smelled horribly. The 2nd room had shoe prints on the sheets, was covered in dust, plugs hanging from the wall, and smelled like weed. I gave 2 rooms a chance and went back to cancel. Just go ahead and skip this place.

Breakfast is included in the nightly rate, however the milk was spoiled, which is why I left a 1 star rating for staff and service. The housekeeping was really friendly and helpful, though after cleaning the room there was a smell of wet mop that lingered for hours. The motel is overall well lit and clean, though not particularly nice (holes in the blackout material of the curtains, burnt out light bulb in room, peeling paint on the doors).

Dirty Bedbug infested slum of a motel...disgusting
This was one of the WORST motel rooms I have ever stayed in. The room was filthy,the mattress was completely infested with BED BUGS, and the clerk AND the "manager" were both completely useless to help in any way whatsoever. Do not stay here unless you want to spend hundreds more on cleaning all your belongings and medical bills for bug bites

Crappiest coastal stay so far
Rooms are nothing like advertised. Towels sheets and showers were dirty. Electrical sockets hanging out of the wall and takes a whole century for the water to turn hot in the shower and sink. The complimentary breakfast is and insult no compliment basically its a selection of cheap junk food. This hotel was the worst part of my family trip and the next time i visit Port Lavaca i most definitely will not stay at the chaparral!

The Room 122 had a broken desk desk chair. I call the office ask for a replacement and he told me thats all they had. No replacement with plenty off vacancy rooms . Nice chairs. So the room had bad spots on the walls. Restroom area paint peeling onthe door of Restroom nasty. Sink area had know light it was broken ask for replacement to lady that clean rooms she did let them know a they came in while i was gone and fix it. She did come everyday to clean my room but i keep it clean my self in between the be the electric plug box and wires were hanging out of the wall dangerous. I had to plug my CPAC and phone in it. Nothing work for the breakfast buffet just had cereal and1gal. Of milk and hony bun or a twinkie. And apple jucy. Thats it everyday. Turn in key card. I said Thank you he ignored me and i left 10 am

The room was broke down. The night stand was miss the drawers and was turned around backwards so all we seen was the back of the nightstand also the shower bottom was all coming up the paint's missing the shower head was so low it's hard to take a stand in there and take a shower and the employee was very rude I would definitely like a refund if I could get one

Good for the price
The room was clean and they were very accommodating. The only problem was the smell of the room but it wasn’t anything that Fabreeze couldn’t fix. Their continental breakfast wasn’t good. The coffee machine was out of order and the juices were out as well. The little restaurant next door had great food and coffee so that problem was solved quickly.

The first room had a strong smell of mold, the fridge was disgusting and the table had some type of fluid, most open most importantly, the air conditioning did not work well! The second room was a smidge cleaner, only reason I did not leave was there no refund.

Room does not have amenities listed on their site. Wall plug hanging out of the wall. Floor was dirty. Non smoking room with burn holes in covers. Bathtub had black hair still in it. Sheets were stained. Room had a musty smell. Not a good deal for the price we paid. Very run down and if the room would have been refundable, we would have cancelled as soon aa we saw the location. More worker oriented and not family oriented. The lady at the front desk that had to give me the hairdryer was nice.
