The location is convenient, the front desk staff were kind, and the rooms appear modern with recent renovations. Unfortunately, this was the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in.
I asked for another room but they were full so they send someone back to clean the room, but even after that it remained unsanitary. The linoleum floors—which should be easy to mop—were thick with grime. The sheets smelled unpleasant, I’m hoping at minimum non-scented detergent was used, and were visibly stained with dirty hand marks where they had been folded over. While the sheets were changed and the towels initially seemed okay, the second towel I grabbed still had dirty handprints on it.
Before the second cleaning, the mirror and microwave were covered in greasy hand marks (which were wiped down), but the shower was grimy and clearly had not been cleaned in a long time. To make matters worse, there was a pubic hair left on the toilet.
I understand that hotels may never be perfectly clean, but this was well beyond an acceptable standard. I’m relatively easy going and it takes a lot to gross me out, but right now I’m counting down the hours till I can shower.
