Weg bleiben

Hotel hat den Namen vor 3 Wochen geändert und heisst jetzt „Blue Zone Resort“. Positiv: Gärtner macht einen super Job! Der Service ist sehr schlecht und dies in allen Ecken und Kanten. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war schlecht. Wir hatten eine Villa mit 2 kleinen Zimmern für 300 USD pro Nacht. Die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig, Bsp. wir haben Zimmer Reinigung gewünscht, teilweise wurde ein Bett gemacht, das Andere nicht. Die Bettwäsche war nicht sauber und der Boden auch nicht. Kontinentales Frühstück ist inclusive, diese beinhaltete Kaffee oder Tee, 1 Ei, 1 Toast, bisschen Obst, Butter und Konfitüre (Bild hochgeladen). Wenn man ein Toast mehr wollte, war das für 1 Dollar pro Toast möglich. Abendessen: Vorspeise wurde nach der Hauptspeise serviert, bei der Hauptspeise haben teilweise die Beilagen gefehlt, wir mussten mehrmals nachfragen um diese zu erhalten. Das Essen kam lauwarm, Pommes halb roh, das Hähnchenfleisch leider auch… Säfte wollte man uns als „Coctails“ verrechnen. Wir haben das Restaurant eine zweite Chance gegeben, leider gab es keine Verbesserung! Wäsche - Service: unsere Wäsche war leider nicht wie versprochen am Nachmittag fertig, Entschuldigung gab es mehrere: Mitarbeiter neu, Trockner funktioniert nicht, zu wenig Bettwäsche fürs Hotel - diese mussten zuerst gewaschen werden, usw. 36 h nach Abgabe, vor unsere Abreise haben wir unsere Wäsche nass erhalten - immerhin wurde dies nicht in Rechnung gestellt. Würden wir nicht mehr buchen.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was cleaned every day. The bed was extremely comfortable and well made each day. I liked the key pad access so we didn't have to keep up with a key. The room air conditioner was very quiet and cooled the room quickly. Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed the beautiful pool.

If you want to be in a somewhat remote area this is the place. Our last night on vacation we spent in Liberia & it made us appreciate Drift Away’s quite!

The communal part are quite limited. The pictures show a rather large bar /breakfast area overlooking the pool which was closed for refurbishment. Swimming pool very was too. The place is isolated so in particular for me not having a car was difficult and expensive to move around albeit the owners managed to organise transfers for me and trips

My stay at Drift Away was fantastic! Lagaritos beach is about a 200m walk through the countryside to a gorgeous and at times completely empty beach. It was breathtaking and convenient. Paul and Lisa, the managers, as well as the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful to me and other guests. I wanted to learn how to surf. They arranged surf lessons for me at a surf school on Avellanas beach and had a surfboard for me to borrow -- both for free. They also had great advice on restaurants, shops, etc. in the area. The facilities were fantastic and clean. I loved the beautiful pool and landscaping. The covered breakfast and game area was also a great place to hang out at night. They also have a screened building with furniture, games, books and yoga mats. I used that area frequently to read at night. I used it a few times during the day to stretch before surfing and to meditate. I highly recommend Drift Away and hope to return soon.

The property was recently renovated, with updated rooms, bathrooms, and swimming pool. We particularly enjoyed the swimming pool. The property was also about a 5-10 minute walk to Playa Lagartillo. We also enjoyed the breakfast, which was sumptuous, served with good variety and great coffee. We also enjoyed the use of the pool table and also the yoga room with board games. Mosquitoes were fairly well controlled, and I see the staff fogging the area of a regular basis. The short road (about 100m) leading up to the property is a bit rough and rocky. A 4x4 is recommended although I would say it's not impossible to get by with a regular car.
