What an amazing place. We loved every minute of our stay here. From the moment we arrived we were treated like family. They gave us a map of the town and marked places to visit and recommended places to eat. The room was amazing. It had a large living area with a fridge and kettle. Our bedroom was upstairs and was huge.
It’s in the best location so close to everything. Highly recommend and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
Wonderful find while planning a Chichen Itza visit
What a special place to stay!!! It felt like home with the staff being so helpful in checking us in, offering anything we needed and giving wonderful suggestions for the area. We stayed in the fabulous Don Louis room which was very large and comfortable. Each morning we got a new delight for breakfast with a local specialty. Valladolid was our stay when planning our visit to Chichen Itza but the stay was so much more wonderful than we expected. The town square on Sunday evenings is a must!!!. Casa Marlene was so convenient to everything.
This is a quaint renovated colonial house. The reception room is the old living room filled with families snapshots from the 1950;s and earlier. The room, though not luxurious at all and a bit naive in its “hotel decour” has an early twentieth century look to it. Everything looks basic but authentic. What really makes you fall in love with the hotel (more like a bed and breakfast) is the BREAKFAST. The setting, the service and the yucatecan food makes it all worthwhile. Stay here and feel the real Mexico.
Great hotel and very lovely people. Breakfast in the beautiful inner garden was excellent, and the staff was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. Our room was clean and comfortable. Sunday night in the Plaza was great fun. We visited Casa de Los Venados, a must-see in Valladolid.
Very quaint house. Service is very friendly and personalized. A pure boutique hotel feeling. The breakfast was superb. The duplex suite we had with the jacuzzi was really nice. A perfect stay for a typical Mexican experience !
Small and beautiful hotel in the center of Valladolid. Our room was huge, it had 2 floors and a jacuzzi. Don’t miss the 3 courses breakfast ! The colorful city of Valladolid is an ideal base camp to visit Chichen Itza and Ek Balam.
this Casa was amazing, not much to look at from the road BUT, inside is an oasis. lots of foliage , a grand entrance hall and lounge area.. the room was large, with a marble jacuzzi too , just a few steps from the pool.the breakfast was varied with a chef's local choice to try, fantastic, and as many coursed as you liked. the waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable ,happy and was a delight.in fact all the staff were brilliant. we met the owner of this small 6(?) bedroom place and we could tell we were having a great time. wish we had stayed longer.
a note for the lady receptionist upon arrival who was a very efficient, pleasant and enthusiastic about our stay.
We stayed in Valladolid for a couple of nights to allow an early morning visit to Chichen Itza. The temperature was in the mid-thirties so pretty warm for us cold blooded Brits! After a great morning wandering around Chichen Itza it was lovely to come back to the middle of the city and have the beautiful garden and cool pool at Casa Marlene.
The breakfast was great cooked freshly each morning and the staff were really helpful.
This place is a gem. I wanted an authentic Mexican experience and am fortunate to have stayed here. Walking distance to the square. Ample parking behind Burger King. The owner greeted us for breakfast and even helped carry luggage to our car. This is a very special place.
Me senti muito mal.
My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Casa Marlene. The location just a block away from Valladolid's central plaza is very convenient for sightseeing, shopping, and dining. Rooms open onto a lovely courtyard garden. The entire staff of the hotel provided warm and gracious service. The breakfast served every morning, and included with our room rate, was amazing, from the Mexican coffee prepared in a ceramic urn to the salad of tropical fruit, followed by a plate of Yucatecan specialities, and ending in dessert! We would definitely stay at this hotel again.
First off, the staff here is fantastic. Everyone was welcoming and attentive and they made us feel very comfortable after a long flight and drive. While our room wasn't luxurious, it had just about everything we could want including air conditioning, television, a fridge with complementary drinks, and a coffee maker. The garden and pool area are very nice and well taken care of. I think our favorite part about our stay at Casa Marlene was the breakfast, and I highly recommend it. The mayan coffee in particular was excellent. The location is great also, right near the main square. All around it was lovely, and I would gladly stay here again.
The room was spacious, both in square feet and cubic volume.. the ceilings being at least 18 feet high. You are simply in another time in this hacienda architecture. Other than the festival, the juxtaposition between the very busy city street the hotel is on and the remarkable serenity of the garden and rooms immediately upon entering the door of the place was astounding. Being near the town square was wonderful and the restaurants within a few minutes of walking were incredible. The proximity to the various Mayan cites was a huge draw too… and just being in a real Mexican town / city as opposed to being in some hotel in which you're surrounded by other gringos was a huge plus. The people who run the place are unfailingly kind, considerate and personable.
The only downside was that there apparently wasn't enough hot water as we ended up with very short, very luke warm showers.
Casa Marlene - jederzeit wieder gerne!!!
Sehr sehr nettes Personal.
