Lovely property, secluded but good shuttle options to ski field (less than 5 mins) and twice daily to Karuizawa.
Staff were friendly - used Google translate as there were not many western travellers.
Amazing Onsens - all gender seperate apart from private but open 24 hours.
Food was great - and a shop for snacks, souvenirs and drinks.
Great for winding down and experiencing the snow and small field close by.
If you come to tokyo for your vacation, you should consider check out this onsen.they have a free shuttle bus from shinjuku every day its about 4-5hrs rides, not to mention they have a very special onsen water....
I really enjoyed my stay, however getting there was challenging, and I couldn't find the email to ask questions on their website. I ultimately took a risk and was able to hop on a bus from Karuizawa, but online it mentions no reservations for buses, and I could not find that there even was one to the resort. If their email had been listed (and perhaps it is not due to an internet issue through the US), I'd have had less stress getting there. Otherwise, I only recommend others research more before going here so they know the customs more - tattoos are not allowed, and I had to book the private onsen.
