Tokyo Disney Sea at night!
Tokyo DisneySea is part of the Tokyo Disney Resort, which opened in 2001 under the theme "Nautical exploration and adventure."

Technically not located in Tokyo but the neighboring prefecture of Chiba, Tokyo DisneySea is a popular amusement park for people of all ages. Personally I like DisneySea better than Disneyland because the streets are wider, have more places to sit, and most of the waiting time for rides is indoors, which makes it nicer for those sweltering hot days in the summer.

Oh and they also serve alcohol :)

For those who think that the 1day ticket is pricy (at 6,900 yen for adults, 4,500 yen for kids, it really is) but would still like to go, they also provide an after 3pm passport for 5,400 yen (3,500 yen for kids) on weekends or an after 6pm passport for 4,200 yen. Or if you still want to go the whole day, you can find slightly cheaper ones at discount ticket shops.

Closest Station: Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo Line.

Discover the secrets of the oceans in this magical theme park, where Disney’s sea-dwelling characters will take you on a journey to the world below the waves.

Take the whole family to Tokyo DisneySea® for an experience like no other. This fantasy theme park is part of the Tokyo Disney Resort, but it is unlike any other Disney park in the world. Here, the myths and legends of the oceans come to life, with seven fantastical areas to explore. From Mediterranean Harbor, where you can float down Venice-style canals on gondolas, to the Arabian Coast and the magical world of Aladdin, there are memories to be made at every turn.

It is hard to choose where to visit first in Tokyo DisneySea. Kids will delight in the Mysterious Island, found deep inside the huge volcano in the middle of the park. Climb inside Captain Nemo’s submarine and explore the weird and wonderful life that exists at the bottom of the ocean, or hop into one of his science vehicles to travel to center of the earth.

Adults will enjoy the sophistication of the Mediterranean Harbor’s restaurants, where the Japanese love of good food is evident in the a la carte restaurants. Marvel at the spectacle when boats and water fountains put on a show in the harbor.

If your children have an adventurous spirit, the Lost River Delta will fill them with wonder. Ancient temples hidden in the depths of the simulated Central American jungle are the perfect place for your little Indiana Joneses. Hop onto thundering roller coasters and venture deep into ruined temples.

Don’t miss the Tower of Terror, an old haunted hotel where strange things happen. It is located in the American Waterfront, a 20th-century New England-style harbor town, and there are also excellent restaurants and shops nearby. Some are even located inside the huge S.S. Columbia steam liner.

The fun never stops in Tokyo DisneySea, which is open daily from morning until late evening. Take the train from Tokyo to Maihama Station in Tokyo Disney Resort, and from there hop on the Disney Resort Monorail to Tokyo DisneySea Station. Alternatively, it’s a 20-minute walk.
