"The common area was clean as was the linen. Staff was non existent did not realise was a self service accomodation. Parking was there but I did not need it. The room carpet could do with shampoo and the cupboard with dusting . The bathroom fixture though looked new could do with upgrade.. ."

"A modern and comfortable room, but the poor breakfast service let down the overall enjoyment of the stay. The rooms are well designed and high quality, although there were issues with our lamp (flickering badly, couldn’t use it) and shower (blocked plug hole, not draining). Maintenance issues were reported to reception, but as it was the weekend, I was told there was nobody available to look into it until Monday. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the rest of the room. Breakfast was disappointing....

"Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...

"I was very much looking forward to my stay the the Hotel , it was a treat for myself as i was attending a wedding over the weeknd However i dont think i will be back any time soon :-( I stayed in room 16 and there was a loud noise coming from the bathroom ( not sure what is was ) but I had definitely no sleep at all. "Room cleanliness was okay — you get what you pay for. My main issue was the amount of noise inside the hotel itself. For the last couple of nights of my stay, there was heavy music and loud conversations continuing into the early hours of the morning, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel environment. "Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. "Good experience all round. The breakfast selection is better than my previous stays. The only slight negative is that on the last day, I wanted to get my bill while the reception was quiet at breakfast time before the check out rush but the receptionist advised me that due to a new system, if I got the bill, the room would no longer be accessible."
