Hotel Dekat The Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium

"When you walk into the lobby we felt we’d walked into a bar with loud music blaring. The staff needs a little more training as we were told housekeeping comes daily. No there is a refresh not full cleaning. When booking there was no mention of a daily $50.00 fee to be charged for incidentals, like valet parking which makes sense. Usually a cc is taken."

"Clean room very friendly staff. Loved that it was right on the beach. The restaurant, Mahi's, was delicious. It is in a great location on the boardwalk. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Only downside was $15 a day to park. Will definitely stay there anytime we come back to Virginia Beach"

"The staff was amazing. The rooms were probably the cleanest I've ever stayed in, considering the price we paid. I didn't eat the breakfast because I don't care for that particular meal myself. However my mom and sister found the food to be hot (eggs), with plenty of options to choose from and stated it was good. We were able to walk or take the trolley everywhere we wanted to visit, so the car was parked in their parking garage the whole trip, which saved money on gas."

"The room we stayed looked like the cleaners just change the sheets. The bathroom sink was not wiped down, it still had water residue on the faucet. The shower had small visible mold."

"Tv wasn’t working, the mattress weren’t the proper size as the bed frames, and will move around every time you would lean on them. Road noise was as clear as it in the room."

"The towels were so old and stained, the bed coverings were so old and dirty! There was dust all over the countertops. We thought we could stay but after about an hour we felt so disgusted we had to leave and rent a hotel down the road. Me and my wife have been married 26 years and we both agreed this was the worst place we have ever stayed!!!"

"The room was dirty smells very bad it had a lot of flies inside the room when we got there , it didn’t have the alarm system on it overall i was very disappointed about it never going back to this places again ."

"It was a great overall stay only issue was the parking, the lot is not big enough for the rooms being reserved and bar / restaurant. Had to park on street even though they charge 10$ parking daily. They did refund me for the days I had to park on the street."

"I got a last-minute, last room on a Wednesday. The price was good for the location. Despite the (tacky) haunted mansion attraction across the street, and public restrooms located in their parking lot. This is an older, but clean, property that It is right on the boardwalk, steps away from the beach, and closer to the pier than the Neptune statue (but not far!). There is a small restaurant that serves expensive, for what it is worth bottled beer bar onsite. I did not eat at the restaurant...

"Old, outdated but clean in the room if you don't look in the corners. Do not have a cancellation policy is strict no cancellation. Swimming pool is in the lobby. There is a student front desk, one elevator. Staff was nice and polite. parking was great. No food available. reserve for two night state one night and forfeited my second night."

"Awesome spot, check in was a little slow, but the place is extremely well managed, breakfast is good, staff are great, pool is nice, and it was immaculately cleanly. While not beachfront, it’s close enough to the beach that a quick walk to it isn’t a logistical nightmare."
