"This was a very central location to be based. Literally a few metres from a main area with lots of food and restaurant choices, 5-10 mins walk to the Geisha area, and about a 10 minutes walk to Kymiozu temple and a shopping street offering further food and restaurant choices as well as souvenirs. There were local buses available all along the street from the hotel and everywhere was easily accessed. The hotel itself was clean and beds were very comfortable. Would recommend it as an ideal...

"We stayed at 4 different hotels in Japan and this one was our favourite. We were grateful to check in earlier (1pm) rather than 3pm. The hotel has a reception that is manned early in the morning to late in the evening. It is about 10 mins walk to Kyoto Station and the area outside the hotel is quiet. "The staff, service and food were exceptional. The location was perfect for what we wanted out of a four night stay in Kyoto. But, it was the staff that made the experience memorable. Some of the key spots are just around the corner from the hotel. Given the crowds during the day, it was easy to see them early in the morning or after dinner when the crowds were much smaller. If you are looking for the perfect atmosphere from a traditional small Japanese Ryoken then look no further!"
