To start I wasn’t happy about $10 to park, just seems ridiculous! The room was ok when we walked in. Got in late so went to dinner then came back and headed to bed. Embassy Suites Charleston
While valet parking is available the free parking permit requires about a block walk across a 4 lane street. The gentleman that is the concierge was very helpful in providing free shuttle service in the downtown area. Stayed there several times and a nice place.

Charleston Marriott Town Center
Room was dated but clean. Smoke detectors were set off by aerosol deodorant and a hair dryer. Staff were nice about it. But also acted like it’s common. We did not eat breakfast because it was expensive. Overall it was a good stay for what we needed.
