"Great member of staff on check in, she was from Serbia. Good food, shame bar closed at 10.30. Toilet roll was very cheap worse than Costco !"

"Charming hotel and very friendly staff especially during check-in. My one and only complaint is how noisy my stay was. I highly recommend asking for a room far away from the house-keeping closet space because they are constantly in and out and shutting doors at all hours of the day. The doors to the rooms need to be sealed better but I understand it's an older hotel."

My family and I traveled to DC to have our civil wedding ceremony. We needed an early check in so that we could get ready before heading to the courthouse. Well the team over delivered! "It's a beautifully restored historical property. The rooms are small but nice. The doors are old and authentic with lots of paint layers but gives everything character. It's a beautiful blend to old and new. I would stay there again."

"The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, the elevator system is very efficient, and the location is great. We were able to easily walk to the sites and restaurants. Our room was quite small. The parking garage is less than a block from the hotel, was clean and secure, and the parking rate was discounted because we stayed at the hotel. For the high cost of the stay, breakfast should be included."

"My wife and I found our room to be very comfortable and quiet. We arrived at Union Station from Boston via the Acella. It was an easy five minute walk to The Phoenix. The Capital was an easy 20 minute walk. The hotel’s Dubliner restaurant was far too noisy for us. The food was OK. The Corner Cafe was just a couple of hundred feet down the road and the breakfast food was very good. We would not hesitate to stay at The Phoenix again."

"Nice hotel in a prime location neary Union Station. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I would suggest updating the room service time availabilities for dining options. When I scanned the bar code on the information in the hotel room, the times must of been inaccurate because the kitchen did not answer the phone twice."
