"This is an old facility. You'll notice it in the bathroom fixtures. The shower/toilet room was clean. It needs to be updated to get the stained corners addressed. We stayed in the annex. It was quiet. Parking is limited for long box pickups."
"Funky, with spirit! I love the fact that the new owners were up front about their investment in the older property and passionate about gradually bringing it up to speed. It’s a classic motel in need of care, which means in need of customers. The room was totally clean, easy access, and easy parking for a motorcycle. I’m sure I’ll stay again, as it’s on my US 50 route for road trips. Keep this one going!"
"Given how "old timey" the property is, I was impressed with how clean the rooms/bathrooms were. Even so, be warned, the entire property reeks of smoke, from the Casino all the way down the hallways even to the back rooms. Once inside my room, I did not smell smoke, however. Younger generations have probably never seen a place like this and may not even know who Marilyn Monroe is, as much as her picture adorns the lobby and other parts of the property,"
"Our room had pictures of some old actor all over the room , kind of like a shrine to him and it was not pleasant. Interesting yes, but not nice for a room"
"When we arrived, there was a homeless person’s car parked near the front door in the hotel parking lot. Not a good start. The hotel was obviously ready to be sold. Lots of deferred maintenance. The room was completely unacceptable. The wall paper was peeling. The bathroom smelled like sewer gas. We had to keep the door shut with the bathroom fan running constantly. The fan clearly had not been serviced for a very long time. It sounded like a thousand crickets. The curtains were torn. I could go on, but you get the idea. We couldn’t wait to leave!"
"Don't stay here. Rooms are tiny and crammed with furniture. Hard to get to the air conditioning. The room curtain was see-through white fabric. Mattresses and pillows should have been replaced years ago."
