Hotels near Fort Trumbull State Park

"The entire place was disgusting. We had to change rooms because of stains and debris on the sheets. We were moved to a room with a massive crack in the mirror, a bathroom you had to stand in the tub in order to shut the door, smelled like wet cigarettes, the smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag. Stains and mold on everything. It was so bad we left a day early and found a clean hotel nearby. "

"Very disappointing stay overall. The hotel looks completely different in person than it does in the pictures online. From the outside it seems acceptable, but inside the property felt extremely old, poorly maintained, and neglected. There were damaged walls, ceilings in bad condition, carpet coming loose in several areas creating a tripping hazard, and a strong unpleasant smell in the pool area that was very difficult to tolerate. The breakfast was also very poor. I also did not feel the situation involving my service dog was handled professionally or with much understanding, which was especially disappointing. The overall atmosphere of the hotel honestly felt uncomfortable and poorly maintained. I normally do not like leaving negative reviews, but I believe future guests deserve an honest description of the experience before booking."

"Beds were NOT queen sized, fan in bathroom broken it made a loud metallic grinding sound. Air / fan unit wouldn’t stay on."

"A decent place to get a good nights sleep. Reasonably secure - cameras everywhere. Far enough off the main strip that its quiet at night but close enough to the strip that you can go get food ( about a three or four minute drive ) . Close to a 24 hour cvs if you come in late ( up to 1100 at night ) and realize you forgot your toothbrush and need to go get one. Its got nature in the front and the back. It was springtime when I visited and I walked out early to the sounds of red wing blackbirds in the reeds. The interior of the place looks like its been updated recently. Some of the renovations are kind of dyi but thats ok. It seemed clean enough. The floors are tile and vinyl which suggests easy cleaning. The proprietor seemed like a friendly enough guy although he spoke really fast with a strong accent so I couldnt really understand him, but thats ok too since the reservation was all set beforehand online. There was a notice on the front door that no smoking - of anything - was allowed. ( fine with me ) If I came this way again I would probably consider staying again . A reasonably priced place "

"The check in was easy and the staff was nice. The room and bathroom looked clean but smelt like cigarettes. The bed was uncomfortable. Lots of dogs barking from other rooms."

"This place was easy find, right off the highway. Check in process was a breeze. Staff was very accommodating. My boyfriend bought a few beers from the desk. Rooms were clean. We were going to a concert at Mohegan sun. 15 minute drive to the casino. I did not eat breakfast because I was hungry over, but my boyfriend, brother and SIL did My boyfriendvl said it was good He had sausage, homefries and eggs. Good price for a clean hotel Will stay here again if in town."
