"Wonderful family owned hotel. The TL or tenderloin neighborhood is San Francisco can always be a bit sketchy, but the city seems to have cleaned up in the last couple of years. This is an old hotel which I’m sure if the walls could talk would have quite the stories it has one of the oldest elevators in the city, which is really cool. I would definitely stay here again and it’s a great hotel when you’re on a budget."

"Room was simple but clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fridge and microwave provided. Good value for proximity to Union Square. Be aware the street is sketchy at times, but security is good and only 2 blocks to restaurants and shopping. "

The snacks in the dining room were a delightful treat. We enjoyed reading in the study. The bed was very comfortable. This place is a must stay again. "
