"This is such a cute little place to visit. I am sure it is even prettier when the grass and trees are green in the spring and summer. So, I have pros and cons in my stay (as most places will have)
Pros: ascetically very pleasing. despite the winter brown trees and grass, the yard in between the cottages planned well. There was a cute little pond with a tiny bridge and hammocks hanging from the giant trees in the middle. There was a hanging swing next to my cabin. My patio was very nice to sit in the morning and evening. The quiet was so nice. I wanted to fill my soul on this trip and just being able to commune with God in the silence was prefect. The inside of my cottage was decorated perfectly. Great kitchen area with everything I needed. Comfortable bed. The shower is like a grotto with a tiny stained-glass window that gives it a magical vibe. I felt like I was in my own little world.
Now cons: The furniture (except the bed) was very uncomfortable to sit on. It looks perfect in the setting but, you are not encouraged in the lack of comfort to hang out in your cottage. The toilet is not suited to a bigger frame or for someone with any physical limitations, fyi. Breakfast was very disappointing. I would have like a nice German pastry or egg dish. The bread was moldy but, the hardboiled egg and blackberries were good. I would bring some of your own food.
Overall, I can see returning with family or friends and I am glad I got the chance to visit this charming spot."
"The pool was heated, hot tub actually hot, the room was exactly as shown and described, breakfast was very good, and the walking proximity to Main Street was fantastic and just up the sidewalk. Staff were kind and the property was clean. We will return. "
"The room was very nice and the free breakfast was very good with two hot items. Unfortunately our room was next to the outside side door that was kept open half the night by a group of partiers who talked outside that door with the door blocked open. We did tell the front desk person about 1:30 a.m. (we got up and dressed and went out there), who was sympathetic but would not do anything except give us some extra towels (at my request) to put around the edges of our door to block out the sound, and we still had to leave our bathroom vent fan/light on so the humming would help also (to block out the noise). They finally stopped about 3 a.m., then stomped up the stairs (also next to our room) and into their rooms above us, stomping around untl about 3:30 a.m. We had to leave early the next morning to continue our travels so we didn't get much sleep. We felt that the night desk clerk should have at least told them to keep the outside side door closed and use their key card to get in, but he wouldn't. Not sure we would stay here again. It was a Saturday night and apparently the group had been to a wedding earlier in the evening."
"The Kendall is a fun step back in time. There are many themed rooms and the staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It is located right in the heart of old town Boerne which made it easy to walk to shops and restaurants during the day and enjoy the offerings of many original shopkeepers.
I recommend the hotel, just not this particular room. because of the issues we had. The room was decorated in vintage farmhouse and looked really nice and was comfortable. We were in Room 3 of the Schoolhouse. The door had one inch gaps on the top of the frame and the bottom. It was distracting at night while sleeping because the lights outside shown right into the room. It also made an easy access for unwanted bugs. The shower looked like it could be scrubbed a bit better and the toilet took a really long time to refill the tank so consecutive flushes were not possible. The AC in our room went out too and their solution was a bit clunky; a giant portable unit that looked like something they used for events. It was so noisy and we really couldn't use it. We would have preferred another room but they were full. I am sure the website notes there is no fridge or microwave in the room but I overlooked that and was disappointed when we got there. It meant we couldn't bring home leftover meals to enjoy later in the room. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything.
The towels were plentiful and fluffy. I really liked the hygiene items provided and the bed was comfortable. "
"The internet was better than my home internet. The staff was great. Helpful and courteous. The room and bed were very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again."
"The staff was friendly. The Room however was not cleaned well. There was hair on the pillows and inside the bathtub. There was a roach in the bathroom the towels and bed sheets were stained yellow. But the indoor pool and everything else was great."
