"Matfen Hall really is outstanding, my stay was faultless. All staff were so warm, welcoming and helpful- I was greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and my bags were taken up to my room whilst I checked in and relaxed in the Great Hall. "Good location for our needs. Electric charging points were available and most seemed to be working from what I could see - easy to set-up and use too. Rooms were a good size and the bathroom amenities were very good (shower-gel/shampoo/etc.). Breakfast was good value. Decent pint of Guinness served at the bar (I was only having one but treated myself to a second before bed!). "

"The check in was fast and friendly, the room is lovely, with a nice view. There was quite a lot of noise from the street below early in the morning and the church bells were regular throughout the night. The breakfast was a good amount but lukewarm spolt the vibe. The price we paid , i think was high for this standard."
