"This is a lovely boutique hotel that is newly renovated to take advantage of the unique caves in Matera. There is a beautiful view over the gorge. We spent 3 nights here and the lovely owner spent time with us each day curating a perfect itinerary for seeing Matera. There was free parking nearby. The room was spacious and comfortable, and breakfast was good. It’s about a 10 min walk into the main part of town, but it’s nice to be on the edge with the view and it’s super quiet. "

"We found La Maison extremely convenient midway between Bari airport and our cruise port in Taranto. It is a family establishment, very clean and safe. Coffee and packaged cornetto were in the room for us but we didn’t want to use a stove to make espresso and eat packaged items. Overall, it was comfortable and Mariano was accommodating meeting us to help with luggage and bringing extra towels when needed. "
