"We had reason to request to move room and the staff were very accommodating and looked after us well - top marks for that. The evening dinner (pie of the day) was actually unexpectedly excellent and the accompanying veggies were nice and crisp - very enjoyable. The only minor quibble was that due to TV mounting it was next to impossible to get a HDMI stick plugged in (something maybe to check into). Anyhow, all in all, nicely situated and a nice place to stay at and all the staff we encountered...

"Firstly, I didn’t make use of the ‘amenities’. I was visiting parents who had moved house so this was literally a place to rest my head. That being said, the restaurant staff were lovely as I arrived late when l they were finishing shift so helped me find keys and get in. The room was decent - comfortable bed, shower and separate toilet. "We stayed for 1 night whilst in Buxton to see a show at The Opera House. Our usual hotel was fully booked so though we’d try The Old Hall. The accommodation areas are bordering on dilapidated. Characterful no longer applies. We spoke to other guests and they found the same with one even without a working shower. Major staff shortage. The breakfast area was ok but 5 members of staff had rung in sick ( including the manager, which suggests low morale ) so the food etc was in short supply. The 2 on...

"Loved this place. The setting is beautiful as was our room. A real mixture of old and new that worked perfectly. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we truly felt welcome.
