A very comfortable hostel in the Blue Mountians area (Katoomba). The staff are very hospitable. Facilities are real up to par. WIll stay here if I ever return to this area.

Great location, rooms a bit different to advertised.
My room and bed were both small but clean. Shared shower and toilets very basic and not so clean. I was a sole female traveller and felt insecure. This may have been a misconception but enough to mean I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

My room was clean and neat. The manager was very friendly and kind. The hostel was quiet and fairly peaceful. Some things were overlooked like bathroom cleanliness and lack of toilet paper. But otherwise the location was perfect and it suited my needs
The worst place to stay at. Waited 50 mins to be checked in then we got to our room and I would’ve rathered stay in a jail sell for the night with 5 other guys. Immediately checked out after 5 mins of being there
The key didn't work properly in the lock which was already known to the staff but they didn't seem concerned to do anyting about it.
The bunk beds creaked so loudly. In shared accomodation it would wake everyone up.
The beds were very uncomfortable.
They had a kitchen but no spoons.
We stayed here for a night. The Checkin process was a lil bit of a hassle, it was a lil tough to find the place too. The shared bathrooms were not very clean, it was super cold but we were provided heaters. Overall an okay stay but I would not go back.
The common areas are dated (especially the main eating hall), the common carpets are dated and most things are a bit worn. It’s pretty basic.

Ok but not ideal in winter
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, but the room was really cold (we stayed there in July) and you could hear a lot from the corridor and neighbouring rooms.
The toilets and shower room was also quite cold and could use freshening up.

Nice place; but the bunk beds were extremely loud which makes getting up in the middle of the night sound like a klaxon alarm. Just hope you dont need to drink some water or go to the toilet while on the top bunk :)

People would just walk in in the middle of the night, it seemed like there was no cut off for booking times or showing up.. however if I wanted accommodation I’d just rock up at any minute of the night..

this room worked pretty well for me. the building is a huge building, and appears to be an old (1950s?) boarding house - if you have any interest in architecture you will like its characteristics. the room did not have its own en-suite, but the shared toilets and showers were ok. every other room started at double the cost!
the manager was Ron, and he was helpful.
Why would Wotif say that the rooms have private bathrooms if they don’t. It’s so annoying if the description of the room is wrong and I have to go on an expedition to find a toilet at 2am
Dirty, it was impossible to sleep in such a place, I lost my money because they said it was too late for a refund. the photos on the site do not reflect reality, highly not recommended
The room was filthy the tv didnt work and was told to go to common room an watch tv with other guests, the shower curtain was that mouldy it stuck to itself the shower itself was disgusting doesnt look like its been cleaned in a long time.

The property is close to the train station. In common areas are dated, especially the dining area with it's brown veneer panels. The female toilets didn't have hand basins, you have to go into a large shower or wash them in your room using the small handbasin.
My room was next to a 'reading room' which has some foot traffic and my door opened onto this room which felt less private; especially as it also had a fire exit door.
The property manager was helpful.
The property has many stairs and rooms and corridors that have more steps that are larger than your average step height. The property can be accessed via a lane which is convenient to cut across to the main street etc.
