The room is from the 1980's dust and all!!! The reception staff member I met was so rude and tried to charge me more than the advertised price. The room was freezing cold, then was given a unsafe heater. I ordered food from the restaurant, when it came out it had ingredients not mentioned on the menu, that i am intolerant to, so I sent back and replaced with something else, they then tried to charge me for the new meal, I said thats ok could you bring the previous plate out, as if i had paid for it I wanted it, they refused to bring it out. I asked to speak to the manager several times no one would get the manager.

Awful experience. Left a day early as had no sleep due to faulty and noisy radiator. Hotel it self is run down and needs a good tidy up. Went to the bar for some drinks, no staff around and 80s cocktail bar music blaring, not a great atmosphere to relax and chat with friends. I emailed the hotel twice before we arrived and also once after our stay to complain. No reply on either times!!

From beginning to end, we had a great stay. Member of staff at check in was friendly and professional and when he noticed that my partner used a walking stick he moved our room to a much closer, user friendly room without being asked. We were celebrating our 53rd wedding anniversary and when he found that out, he arrived at our room with a card from all the staff. Lovely touch. All the staff were very friendly, efficient and enthusiastic. Our room was spacious and clean. Very quiet too. Dinner in the evening was excellent and the dining room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the morning was again very enjoyable with a good choice and our waiter was very helpful. Swimming pool clean well maintained. Overall we had a memorable stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here and would return in the future.

Booked in early January, some hours later, on the same day, messaged hotel asking for a cancellation, because I realised that possibly I wouldn't be able to make these dates or even the city due to personal circumstances. Even with more than one month in advance, the hotel refused to cancel and refund the booking; We were a big group, booked 3 different rooms; we paid different £ for the rooms, but got exactly the same room size/ layout and facilities. We could feel a smell of old and musty around the premisses hallways/corridors/bedrooms. Old furniture and decoration all around the hotel. Hallway to gym and spa requires updating. Were travelling with children, choose this hotel because of the pool and spa facilities; however we could not use this during the entire stay. We were told the "pool is not working due to elevated chlorine levels". An online search demonstrated that there are quick solutions for this issue eg. emptying the pool and filling it up with clean water; or adding a neutralising solution. We checked in on Friday around 3pm and checked out on Sunday 11am. But it seemed that there was no sense of URGENCY to fix this issue; plus we were not informed about it previously to make appropriate arrangements. Breakfast: very few options available; hard/sour fruits; served uncooked egg and old burnt bacon. Few restaurant options around. But close to Safari park. Staff were generally polite. Overall overly priced for what was on offer.

Staff Nice , Room a bit dated but ok for fifty quid. Shower useless no pressure and one of those horrible shower curtains that cling to your body. Toilet brush was filthy - not sure why there's one in the loo TBH. Food good and apart from the dodgy room its a nice hotel

There was no functioning valve on the radiator, so couldn’t adjust the heat. The radiator banged and clicked in the night too. The room was big, but the duvet cover was cheap material. The toilet roll was cheap and nasty. There was only 3 milk sachets so not enough for more than one hot drink each

I would like to start and say this a not a complaint towards expedia, booked this stay for valentines, the hotel was pleasant looking on photos and didnt disappoint visually when we arrived. The bad - When welcomed i was told i had not paid yet and they needed payment but that was ammended. Got up to the room and it was cold but couldnt find a thermostat anywhere to change the temperature in the room. The water in the shower was cold which wasnt pleasant for my partner. I also had a reservation for dinner at the hotel at 7pm, was sat down in a small section at the back of the restaurant with 4 other couples that seemed unhappy and the general tention in there wasnt great, they got the drink order wrong to start with, then took the food order at around 7:30pm, 8:15pm came around and the staff proceeded to tell me i couldnt have my order as they didnt have it, i then changed my order and got our food around 8:45. We were both very unhappy with the service in the restaurant. To top it all off they had a murder mystery night on which i have no problems with but i wasnt aware this event was on that night and the jazz band were playing extremely loud to the point of the desk and decor where vibrating in the room until midnight. Safe to say we wont be returning there and we would appreciate compensation.

Food terrible, returned first plate of tasteless Pasta slop (boiled for about an hour then microwaved), ordered Fish & Chips as a replacement, swilling in grease when it finally arrived over an hour after returning first plate. Bar massively over priced, cheaper pints in central London and to top it all off no phone signal compounded by internet speeds to rival dial up in 1994! DO NOT STAY!

Room was not cleaned properly at all, I got into bed and there was something under the sheets, it was a nasal stick from the last person that had stayed! How did the staff miss that when changing the sheets? The staff was rude instantly on arrival, we was typing in our number plates for parking and a staff member sat down so I assumed he come to assist so i said we have a booking and he snapped straight away and said "check isn't till 3 I can't help you" and his tone of voice was so rude, it was nearly 3pm so we wasn't mega early, so then I asked if their was anywhere I can change my baby while we wait and he huffed before pointed down the hall to disable toilet / baby change. Then when my husband could check in he put us on a top floor with no loft, mind you we have an old silver cross pram so me and my husband had to lift this up and down a flight of stairs 3/4.times , my husband asked if we could change it even lay for a bigger room if needed to have bottom floor and he was so rude and didn'thelp at all. The same staff member the day after when we checked out, argued with my great aunt and decided it was okay to push her out the way because he said she owed money for late check out even though she check out for 11am. She's small and 70 year old, this staff member is a big man and ridiculous he pushed her out the way. The toilets are terrible and dirty wasn't even cleaned the whole time we was there, all the toilet roll holders are broke. Awful hotel

We stopped in the original part of the hotel. The room was simple but clean and tidy. It was a little cold when we arrived so we asked at reception about the heating. We were told it came on at 4pm but I think they switched it on earlier and they gave us an electric heater. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. We were attending an event at the hotel which was great fun. On the morning we went for breakfast, ,we had the choice of a small continental breakfast, cereal or a cooked breakfast Breakfast was good, only one item on the cooked breakfast wasn't available , a little disappointing but that happens sometimes. The poached eggs may have been under a heater so they were solid but the waiter replaced them with freshly cooked ones which were brilliant. Plenty of free parking. Overall it was a pleasant stay and would return, I'd like to go there in the summer as they have alfresco dining, big outside kitchen.

Clean room. Long way from Reception. No lift to first floor. No offer of help with luggage despite my obvious limp.very noisy extractor fan in bathroom. Had trouble getting hot shower the first morning but that was probably my fault. Only one other person at breakfast the first say and on my own the 2nd day which was fine but the toaster hadn't been turned on the 2nd day so had to wait for server to appear as it wasn't obvious how to do it.
