We stayed in apartment that was secluded and yet very accessible to reception etc. spaciousness made it nice on last night as we could pack and repack. Convenient to shops and restaurants.

Excellent location - right in the middle of Stirling with a car park just behind the hotel which was very convenient. Plenty of nice restaurants nearby to choose from and a short walk uphill to the castle.

There is no reception. There is a person there between the check in times, sitting at a table in the empty and closed bar area. The lock to our room was reset after our first night of a 3-night stay and we had to hunt down someone to reset it. They were pleasant but we had to call a phone number to reach someone. Overall appearance of the hotel was shabby and needing some restoration. Location was good on a pedestrian street. Parking was public pay parking lot behind the hotel, 2 hour max per pay period during the day.

We enjoyed our stay ! Initially I was a bit dubious from outside it looked a bit tired but room was lovely and had everything we needed for a short stay , there was a car park round the back which was a surprise definitely recommend

The check in was excellent. Everything explained clearly. Room -radiator would not turn off so very warm slept with window open. Unable to turn off lights,at side of bed so unscrewed . That worked. Bed comfortable. Shower hose had black mold on it. Room was clean although looking a bit tired. Overall ok stay.

The property was very gloomy. The hallway getting into our room was quite dark with poor lighting. The bed was low to the ground and had no boxspring, just a mattress. The frame creeped loudly with every turn. The floor in the room and the bathroom were not clean. Overall, I would not recommend.

I really liked the hotel, my room was so cute. Luckily they installed a second set of windows on my bay window and it really helped reduce the noise from the walkway below. It was definitely right downtown and the party folks used the walkway late into the night. I missed that they did not have parking.. you have to pay for parking. Staff was helpful in choosing a good location (behind the hotel or down the street), but I’d prefer included parking. Staff is not there full time, but were helpful when there.

Great location a short walk from the train station and the pictures looked warm and inviting. I had texted a month prior to trip to ask about leaving our luggage at the desk so we could get to our day's activities but there was no answer. When we arrived, it looked closed and we wondered if the place had closed down. We learned from a cafe nearby that a convenience store would mind our luggage for the day. When we checked in later that day, we were given the room on the 4th floor, but someone was already in the room. We were reassigned to a room on another floor but the electronic lock's battery had failed. We were upgraded then to a suite. The halls and stairwells and rooms seemed tired and outdated. There were no staff staying onsite, the hotel lobby was deserted and the warm patio scene in the pictures no longer exists. It was unsettling.

This place has the potential to be a really cool spot with very poor execution. The location is great to get to a variety of things right in the heart of the town of Stirling, and the staff I dealt with were very nice but there isn’t someone on property 24/7. Check in is very strictly between 3-10pm and if you need something you have to call. The room was clean-ish. The shower was very broken down and weirdly set up. This hotel advertises its bar and has a photo showing a laundry set up, note that it does not have either of these amenities. Parking is a small paid lot behind, good luck getting a spot. It got the job done for our overnight stay, but definitely not somewhere I’d seek out again. Very disappointed for what I had seen advertised by Friars Wynd Hotel. Would not recommend.

I was surprised there was no reception or anyone to greet us. The entry looked like an abandoned bar. We tried to call a phone number from a sign on the window, but nobody answered. Because we arrived after 3pm, we wanted to go sightseeing before everything closed, so we took the risk of leaving our luggage unattended. Luckily, when we came back, we were able to call and talk to someone to check us in. The rooms were lovely & clean. Check out was contactless, so again, nobody to confirm our stay was at its end.

The room and bath were very clean. The cleaning crew was very good in the room itself. the room carpet was fairly new but that is all that was good. to be very brief : Communication -Fail 4 calls and three emails with no response until hours after we finally got in. lobby- Fail -looks like a dim ghost town hallways walls and carpet- Fail and Yuck! icky Breakfast said included - Not . no facility for that. Price was cheap. we couldn't use the front entrance ... had to put a code in to open a beat up side door with no handle except a small knob. TV-fail does not turn on Security of bedroom door- Fail- won't lock Note: this is my first bad review. I usually only leave glowingly good reviews.

There wasn’t anyone at the property when we first arrived although it was unlocked. The bar is no longer open for business and the communal areas have seen better days. Despite all that our room was clean - nice bathroom and a very central location

If all you want is a bed for the night then this place is fine. The room was clean. There is no bar or restaurant. You have to go out and find your own breakfast. Do not bother ringing the 'out of hours' number, your call / message will not be answered.

We reserved a room that was advertised with a king bed. It wasn’t the reality. But it was comfortable anyway and the room was quiet. On our end we didn’t have problems for the check-in because we arrived at 3pm, but other travellers were stuck in front of a locked door at 7pm and nobody was answering the phone. It took more than an hour for them to have someone to come and do their check-in. No staff onsite at all.
