We stayed 12 nights in December in an ocean-view room. The location is good, but ongoing operational issues significantly affected our stay.
• Late checkout was approved, yet our key expired early, locking us out. We were not told keys needed to be “renewed,” and the front desk response was dismissive.
• Communication was inconsistent, with staff giving conflicting information about checkout and shuttle availability.
• There are no phones in the rooms, forcing reliance on the hotel app, which frequently did not work. On our second-to-last day, there were no beach towels available, and the app was down.
• A $1,200 charge was placed on the first day, despite the $55/night resort fee totaling $660 for 12 nights. This was not clearly explained.
• Housekeeping issues included knocking before 8:00 AM on Dec 22 and 23 despite a Do Not Disturb sign, and a 5:00 PM knock on another day. Room cleaning must be requested rather than automatic.
• Beach chairs were unavailable on Dec 28 around 1:00 PM, with many chairs reserved by towels while unoccupied.
• Noise from the room above occurred most evenings around 7:00 PM, consistent with furniture being moved.
• Linens were extremely thin, the refrigerator ran excessively cold (a soda exploded), and no paper towels or napkins were provided.
• The property has no bathrooms near the first-floor check-in area; guests must go upstairs or outside.
